Some graphics that might be of a great help...
I dont know if you saw this, but this will certainly interest you: Renegade buildings in GMAX. Most of them are identical to C&C95's and converting them to SHP:
the refinery is a bit diffrent though...... and there are other buildings in the renegade mix files too like a repair bay communication center tec _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
thx, but first of all the dl link seems not to work (at least it doesn't for me) and second i don't have gmax and downloading it with a 56k modem is impossible.
But maybe someone else could render them for me? I would highly appreciate it, and that person would recieve credits for it of course. QUICK_EDIT

About that refinery... on the Covert Ops CD there's an unused movie called refinery.vqa that shows some very nice rotations of the C&C1 refinery model... with width indications even. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

I know, I made a voxel based on it, and Jokeman will make a decent shp of it as soon as I got the harvester vxl finished. QUICK_EDIT

ah, OK
In case you need to know/get anything at all about C&C1, I know the game totally inside out. I've been stuck with a DOS 486 and DOS C&C for 5 years or so _________________ QUICK_EDIT

hehe, I've played through TD ten times more than any other game, I think about 50 times Nod and at least 20 times GDI, I made some maps, I made an inofficial patch that I never released, and all this sort of stuff...
So this is the case for me as well, I think
Still, if there's anything I might need I'll remember you QUICK_EDIT

oooh... a challenge.. let's see
-Unofficial patch: been there, done that... Well kind of anyway. It fixed a number of GFX errors, and removed the concrete under the silo and repair bay. Used to be online, but I updated it a lot since then.
-Played through the game: Well not that many times, because, well it just gets boring. I just went on and played/created addon missions, and after that I started modding the game.
-Map making: I think I made the only existing C&C1 indoor mission, with special triggers like "enter cell, one specific building blows up" (gotta love that MHQ unit )
-Ploughed through game.dat & C&C95.exe with my hex editor to manually change game data, and created the only complete C&C95 editor out of a savegame editor
Oh, and I got DOS C&C1 to work on XP
Amazingly cool to know I'm not the only C&C freak on this planet though _________________ QUICK_EDIT

The C&C95 editor... well, I gathered all data from all editors availiable, added some of my own findings to it too, and put that in an old DOS savegame editor program. After all there's only one version of the C&C95.exe file (unless maybe other languages), so I could work with simple fixed positions.
The program is called UGE - Ultimate Game Editor. Unfortunately, it's a trial version with some annoying stuff when exiting it.
Features... well, I dunno. It can edit what every other C&C editor can, but more extensive. No weapon specs and stuff, but I have tested pretty much all entries for all units, structures, aircraft and infantry to look for new stuff, and found quite a lot, actually.
I managed to turn the tiberium silo into a rotating turret with it (had to replace gfx of course) _________________ QUICK_EDIT

You were the one who made the UGE? Wow... that was the program that got me into modding for the first time in my whole life... congrats... it rocks! _________________

@ Nyerguds, welcome in the club, I did the same thing
What, complete the modules, or make a silo into a rotating turret?
(I used the Sam Site GFX, adapted to the frame sequence of the turret for that, btw.)

Did you find the offset to enable the squished infantry marks too?
You found that? omg!
I've seen these gfx, but I didn't really search anything ourside the unit data, except the value of the $2000 money crate. I found that in DOS C&C, but I couldn't find it in C&C95.exe
Can you tell me that squish mark offset please? _________________ QUICK_EDIT

i hope so, i still got the files somewhere... now the only problem might be that i don't remember right now if I did this for the english version or the german, but i think it was the english. I'll have a look. QUICK_EDIT

woops, i forgot...
well, in the german version it's at offset 519238, and it's a simple 'range 0-255 value' (you just need to set it to 1 instead of 0 to activate the squish marks). QUICK_EDIT

Actually all 1-bytes in C&C are -128/127 values, but thanks!
[edit]
Ehm.. as a reference, can you tell me where the Minigunner's speed is located? Or just the string of bytes around that value? I can't find it
Oh, and is it preceded by a 106 (0x6a) value like normal data? _________________ QUICK_EDIT

Most of it is on the C&C Filezone, in the TD section. I'll have to update the page some day, but I got exams coming up now. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

I got loads of C&C-related DOS tools that are not on the site too though. If I got your e-mail I coul send you a huge lot of stuff.
I just got an amazingly cool little program called Bytebite, that accepts command line parameters to modify one specific byte in one specific file. The program was written by my brother (because I asked him), and allows me to make batch scripts to make changes to C&C95.exe
Amazingly handy for distributing C&C Gold mods
I just open UGE, write down the offsets and values, and in the installer for the mod I just use lists of stuff like this:

Um, err, oops sorry...
I'll mail you...
@Banshee: When email is hidden, isn't it unlogical then that the user can still view his own adress, although he probably knows it anyway...?
Because of that I had already forgotten that mine is hidden... QUICK_EDIT

Ah well, it's all OK now. I got Reaperrr's mail.
I will be away (well, away... making exams :\) until the 14th though. Wish me luck _________________ QUICK_EDIT
