Subject description: Is it possible and how?

How can I disabled the generation of, except.text files on internal errors, sync0 files on reconnection errors, mpstats files after each game.

Is it possible to apply a hex hack into the game.exe for this and does anyone here know where and what to change?

Because he could be a regular player and doesn't care why they happen so he doesn't want to store or have to delete them.

In RA2, except files always overwrite themselves. I never seen an mpstat file. And you can have only 3 SYNCs max from my experiences - doubt keeping them would be that much of a hassle.

Basically I don't want any auto generated useless poop in the game folder, I've already removed the generation of mpstats files as my game created one after every single multiplayer game on xwis.

I'm working on the next UOP for RA2 and would like to get rid of as much useless junk as possible on the client side.

I'm not a 'regular' player, but what I'm making is for regular players and they won't care or want to know about such things.

When I was a 'regular' player I never even looked in the RA2 folder.  I think most regular players will accept that there are some files in their game directory which they do not understand, and are not required to.

On the other hand, the next time your mod starts throwing an exception which you need to identify, except files might come in handy.

My mod is an unofficial patch, so it's just to keep the game folder as clean as possible. I'm making changes in a way that keeps the patch 100% compatible with original game clients.

There's a handful of files that might tally a whole megabyte or two of space. Is this even really that important? Let alone necessary?
