Subject description: I can only chronoshift once.

As the topic says, I can only chronoshift once with the chronotank, is this deliberate? am i doing something wrong? his ammo doesnt recharge back and i cannot deploy him.

It is intentional, yeah. Since the Chrono Tank in DTA teleports instantly (due to TS engine limitations) unlike in RA (where the Chrono Tank is unable to do anything for a while after teleporting IIRC), it would be overpowered if it was able to teleport multiple times.

In RA it can shoot and move normally on ground after a teleport.
The ammo/charge pips in RA were only a counter for the teleport function. When charged you could teleport again (like a deploy functionality), else only move normally on ground.

But yes, due to engine limitations, the DTA chrono tank works intentionally the way it does now.

Ah right, now I remember. I rarely used the Chrono Tank in RA. But yeah, that charge logic isn't doable with the TS engine.

The Chrono tank in DTA is like a prism tank from RA2, its got kinda the same weapon - instead of rockets it has this long ranged beam attack. Those bastards can outrange my tesla coils me thinks.

Theres a build limit on them though, right? Just like the Tesla Tank? I guess they are their faction equivalents, the crazy experimental tanks with a build limit of 3.

Nah, the Chrono Tank's range isn't that long unless it is elite. The Chrono Tank has a build limit of 1, although that build limit is refreshed each time after deploying your Chrono Tank, so in theory you can build it as much as you want. But only one of them is able to teleport at a time.

not really. You can build one, deploy it into chrono state, and then build another one.
When you have multiple in chrono mode, you can move them all as a group. Which is quite devastating when 5 or 6 appear in your base.
And then you can deploy them all at the same time via d key, so they all switch into the final firing mode and lay waste to an entire base.

Only in RA1 you had to teleport them one by one, since there didn't exist the keyboard shortcut for deploying yet. So you were forced to click on them one by one to use the teleport function.

Well, regarding the public version you are right. It's different in DTA 1.13 though #Tongue

Indeed. In the Staff version you can't abuse the chrono mode anymore.
