I've looked at the new Academy functions and I was wondering, is it somehow possible to set an initial veterancy level on a unit itself, rather than setting a unit's intial veterancy on a structure?
Say, I want to produce a SEAL who is already half-way to his Veteran status, but I want this to be a natural property of the SEAL, rather than building any special structures for it.
Is that possible at all?

Use off-map buildings, MLEP has 5 of them.

It's not possible at the moment. VeteranInfantry only sets the level to veteran, hidden buildings don't work in the general case in skirmish.

If you like, create a request on LaunchPad, so this isn't forgotten. No promises though, as I'm not planning too far ahead.

If anyone is putting this on launchpad, also useful would be veterancy multipliers for houses/units (i.e. double, triple xp) instead of just setting an initial xp boost.

MLEP works, so does setting all countries tags, like this:

From Modenc:
You can grant some bonuses to certain countries. VeteranXXX= makes the specified unit(s) build already at veteran status. XXX can be Infantry, Unit, or Aircraft. Keep in mind that these refer to [InfantryTypes], [VehicleTypes] and [AircraftTypes] accordingly. Otherwise issues can occur.

Of course that won't allow you to set anything other than a starting veteran level of 1 of 3 bars. Not anything specific like half a 1/3 bars.

If you don't want to use a pre-placed structure on a map for that, you can always add Academy tags to all production facilities that can build the SEAL. #Tongue
From a players point of view, it will be impossible to tell if it's the SEAL or the structure.

Academy tags Stack though I believe. So that wouldn't work mevitar. Each production facility would keep increasing his seal's starting veteran level.

Academies don't stack, but they play nice with initial veterancy and always take the maximum value.
