Today is the Day of Commercial Love. If you are still looking for some gift: Get Ares 0.9. It's freely available and fits almost every occasion.

There's not much to say you don't know already, so I'll make it short not to bore you: Ares 0.9 adds several super weapon improvements like multiple SWs on a building, SWs depending on owner's country, AuxBuilding and negative buildings, more customizable SW targeting modes, Inhibitors, and -- finally -- AI support for all these additions.

For fans of 2D graphics, Ares adds more facings for VehicleTypes, the option to have animated projectiles that are Rotates=yes and more muzzle flash directions.

Several bugs have been fixed, in Ares and the vanilla game. Weapon effects are no longer applied to the target if a bullet hit a wall, cliff or other obstacle on its way. Some causes fro crashes have been removed.

Overall, an unspectacular release, six weeks later than I planned. I still hope you like it. See you next time.

As always, thank you for your continued work on this project, even if we seem ungrateful at times, we and plenty of people in the shadows do appreciate the time and effort you put into it. How long it takes to release doesn't make it any less awesome.

Pure awesomeness. One thing I'd like to add about the manual regarding forest fire logic. You should probably add another note about TreeFlammability since it's set to 0 by default, which disables the spreading logic.

Moderation notice: I split some bug reports and enhancement requests into a new topic. Please keep things separate.

Personal note: I don't know why people think this is a good place to complain or point out sub-optimal features, but it can really kill the last remaining bit of my motivation, seeing this here after an already very disappointing work on 0.9.

Aside from that: Thanks guys, and also to thanks to pd for the history and of course for starting Ares!

I think that it is pointless to even write here, since everyone (most people who mod YR) know that without Ares, our mods would be very limited. AlexB (and the other guys who work on Ares, don't know who else works on it), you have done a very awesome things with Ares and we are very thankful.

I will be happy to help you with the next version as a tester! Smile
