It doesn't support mods yet as it uses a custom gamemd.exe (game.dat) to launch into the game. But as far as I know mod support is coming for modders who are willing to make their own cncnet client from the source code. (once that will be released)

You might be able to do mods but no Ares or edited.exe using the mod code done for RA1. The TS mods using CnCNet may be able to tell you if the code is the same.

The below code I used for Red Dawn 2014 for CnCNet5. It is put in the cncnet5.ini/cncnet.ini below [Settings]

CustomGameType=rard14
CustomGameName=Red Dawn 2014

If I recall right CustomGameType is no more than 6 letter and number total.

This YR client (mostly written by me, but YR modifications were done by Iran) is entirely new and different from the official TD/RA1/TS client by FunkyFr3sh, so your experience doesn't apply here.

The TS mods at CnCNet (The Dawn of the Tiberium Age and Twisted Insurrection) have already used this new client for a while and while my version (in DTA and TI) somewhat supports modding, I'm not sure if Iran has left modding support in the YR client.

Basically, the client was originally made for DTA and TI and has limited support for modding, but Iran forked the client's UI code for YR and I'm not sure if it supports modding at all with his changes.

It's only partially open source for some reason.
Can't even get proper information on what goes into the spawner's INI...

It's a fairly simple system. If there's something specific you want to ask about, you can PM me or join the CnCNet developer IRC anytime and ask any of the developers online there.

If you want source code access to the YR client (ClientGUI.dll which contains most of the code), you'll need to ask Iran.
