Stellar work as usual, but it seems you have uploaded a very early version of the Operation Crusade map.

It took me over 2 years to complete another 100 Yuri's Revenge maps, but I have finally accomplished another 100 maps.
Will I make it to 400 maps? Time will tell...?

You can download the 3rd 100 map pack on the 3rd page of Yuri's Revenge maps.

I have released 4 new maps.

You should know where to find them, if you want them.

By some odd coincidence, I came across this on YouTube so I thought I'd come here to see if the Soviet missions were available too. It's a shame to see that they aren't, though not surprising given that I know from experience how much time goes into making things like this.

I played through these recently, and I am blown away by the quality of them. They manage to stay true to the original missions, but are significantly harder and much more immersive due-to their size and detail. Very refreshing and a brilliant way to breathe some new life into the original game.

Excellent work, Mad. The first thing to pique my interest in a long time! Do you have some sort of news letter or subscription on your site where I can be notified if the Soviet set is released? I don't visit here very often.

I recently made a YouTube channel to host some competitive Yuri's Revenge games that I am involved with. I decided to upload a long play of these missions too. I encountered a few oddities here and there, but nothing major.

The soviet campaign is in the works. The allied campaign took me about 1 year to do... The Soviet campaign is shaping up to be the same.

I have Soviet missions 1-9  mostly completed. Based on how long it took me to do the Allied campaign, the soviet campaign might not be done tell the end of the year...

I think I have done a better job with the soviet campaign, I learned quite a bit from the Allied campaign. I plan on going back to the Allied campaign and fixing some things. I have seen some play-through's that have shown a few problems... I have ideas on what I want to do. But that will be after the Soviet campaign is released.

Thanks for doing a play through, there are a few out there and I do like to watch them, so I will probably watch yours and see if there are any other oddities that I have not seen yet.

I do not have a mailing/notification thing... I can always think about it...

This was the only real thing that qualifies as an significant oddity that I encountered. Some phantom Transport. Never seen this happen before in my time playing or modding RA2. Others were just bugs with the shroud revealing triggers, which tends to happen on high resolutions anyway.

Odd how I've never come across this before in almost 20 years. Westwood engines always have some new quirks. Regardless, it doesn't seem toi be an issue with the maps themselves, so all in all, they're solid.
Good work, once again. I'm looking forward to more in the future.

I have thought about it... But I can only do one thing at a time. I would have to finish my fun with the RA2 campaign, and there is still much fun for me to have with RA2. But I wont say no, and I wont say yes...  Laughing

Thanks everyone, these are fun and challenging to make, I really am enjoying working on these missions, its like a new way for me to tinker and learn with this old game.

@MigEater, no worries, you did help, those issues with missions 2 and 9 that you found, that really helped, I had no idea.

@McPwny, Well there is a Youtuber named Alstar, who did a play-through of my Allied campaign, I watched his play-through, and thought it was enjoyable and informative. Alstar has already put a play-through of Soviet Mission 1 up, hopefully, I will see more... Hopefully, he doesn't rage quit, I fear these Soviet Missions are much harder... Twisted Evil
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn3jq3EhXhy_6PWsTODHmnQ

As for whats next for me, I am going back to the Allied Campaign, there is allot I can do to those missions, I have learned allot, and seen allot of things from peoples play-throughs. I have already done allot of work to Allied Mission 1.

Oh, was a long day playing all those missions  Laughing

Spoiler about the first mission
Spoiler (click here to read it):
i noticed that is more easy beat the first mission with war miners than conscripts Laughing, with all those upgrades (crates) is really easy beat everything with 9 war miners

Spoiler (click here to read it):
Danm, the mission of Paris was really fun with those bombs and those civilian cars

was really fun, i'm still playing the last mission, apocalypse tanks are so useless compared with prism tanks haha

Nice job MadHQ.

waiting Ts/Fs missions   Laughing

Sov8, if you capture the American base, the two allied MCV can get stuck in place, either at waypoint, or not able to build anything after deployed.

Sov9 might need to be extended a bit in the bottom, the conyard and war factory in bottom-right base is out of playable area.

One last thing: avoid using walls in the building tab, use overlay to put walls.

Odd, I never had issues with Mission 8, I wonder if you killed the AI, there is allot of ways to kill the RA2 AI, its not that smart, its hard coded in the missions...

Mission 9 was meant to not be able to access allied those prod buildings, its like that for a reason.

Why should I not use building walls? I have come to like those, as that gives me 100% control of what house it belongs to... I have seen missions where the AI attacks the overlay walls since there is no ownership. Plus I can use them to have the AI rebuild the walls.

It doesn't. Game decides to which house the wall belongs according to the closest building when loading a map. This is especially appearant in mods that uses remappable walls, you can see that walls near neutral objects using grey colour. Too many objects also slows down FA2 and the loading speed of map.

One more question, why is the president set to be Insignificant=no? Yesterday my sniper just shot him before I could do anything.

Dude, it's not 2002 anymore, Map loading speed is fine on almost everything more modern than an Xbox 360.

I was hoping you'd do these one day, the Allied missions were really good fun to play through. These look just as good, if not better.
Whenever I get a free weekend I'll definitely marathon these. Thanks, Mad.

Thanks! I do think I did better with the Soviet Missions. I have seen a few issues from YouTube videos, but nothing super problematic. Let me know what you think if you do play them.  Razz

I have released 4 new maps.

I have also released 2 new C&C Remastered Red Alert maps.

I have found and released some 3d models and textures I used to make some of the GFX found on my site.
I have no idea what all is in this zip, its just a large collection of stuff.
I have no idea if the 3d Models will open or if every thing is there, these were found off a really old backup CD-R I made years ago.
I don't remember what version of 3ds max was used... I think version 9... But I could be wrong.

Some of the 3d Models you will find:
Yuri Ore Refinery, an old Soviet Airfield, Allied Battle Bunker, Yuri Battle Bunker...

In another CD-R backup disk I found some of my really old mods.
I decided to release what I found just for fun. Do not expect any to work.
There is not too much to say about each, other then old memories.
I will never work on them again, its just a historical dump.

The previous ones are part of a single player campaign, the newer ones are multiplayer/skirmish versions of the same maps.

I have released version 2 of my Red Alert 2 Allied campaign remaster. Not recommended for use with mods, Out-of-Box fully patched Ra2 recommended.
All missions were created with the aid of Westwood assets, Fa2, Google maps, and GE's map verification/check tool.

You can find V2 on my sites missions page.

Just finished playing through the Allied V2 missions, they're very good, I liked them a lot and noticed a lot of good changes between these and the first versions you did.

I think the only major problem was that the Soviets would build a nuke silo in the 4th mission, before you destroyed the amplifier. I just found it in their base when I went in there and they kept rebuilding it after I destroyed it lol. They didn't launch it, but I was able to build one a launch it when I captured the Soviet conyard. Don't remember this happening in your first version of this mission.

Any plans for other missions in the future? I think I read elsewhere in this topic you've considered further tinkering with your Soviet missions as well as TS campaign remasters. Personally I'd love to see the YR campaigns remastered by you and I think a lot of other people would like them too. It's your time though so spend it as you wish lol.

I am glad to see you think these V2 allied missions are better. I think they are, But I have seen some comments... Of people who dont know why I did what I did, But that is okay, it was from my brain.

I dont know what I want to do just yet. I was thinking of TS... But I am not sure what to do with TS... I did a play through of TS, and I dont think what I did for RA2 would work for TS... Maybe... I dont know yet... TS is different. So, I have to really think about what to do.

I have thought about YR... But I am not sure YR needs what I did with RA2... YR is not that bad...

I kind of want to tinker and improve RA2 Soviets missions, but the impact would be small...

So, I am 50/50 on what my next move is...

But either way, C&C is a hobby I enjoy. So I just have to figure out what I want to do. I have many options. I can do allot of different things.

So, stay tuned, who knows...
