Is there any pressing reason why all the themes from RA2 were abandoned in YR in favour of the meager 5(?) new themes? In other words, do I break anything by just un-commenting their entries in themesmd? So far, I've not noticed any issue from re-adding them, but there must have been a reason for removing them.

There's no engine limitation you'll be bumping up against, it just seems like a creative choice of the developers/Frank. The YR soundtrack is stylistically quite different, at least in that the RA2 soundtrack is lot darker and more serious in tone.

Yea the YR music is rather bland, more like AoE music, but credit to WW both soundtracks are really well done.
