Hi again - different question:

I am using ares 0.9 and put Ares.mix, Ares.dll, Ares.dll.inj and Syringe into the game folder - it works all but for the ares strings that are presented as missing - i coded them back in with a string editor but i worry if this problem could expand on other features (colors, superweapons, pilots worked so far)

Did anyone experienced similar difficulties?

If an Ares feature works, then all will "work" (excluding the known limits/bugs/etc), I wouldn't worry about the missing CSF entries.

I honestly never cared about ares.mix.

Welcome!

Sounds like it's the language again. The CSF reader will read the main file, remember its language, and then not load any following CSF file that has a different language set. I'll see what I can do about this.

If you've got a hex editor, you can try this with ares.mix: change byte at offset 42 from 0x00 to 0x02. (It should then read 02 00 00 00 20 4C 42 4C).

Oh okay hmm If i hex it correct [i will try that], would this carry over to others who would use my mod.

Alas, no. The hex hack just sets the contained csf file's language to german, so a german language version of the game will now load it. Thus, if you deliver this Ares.mix, it will no longer work for US and all other languages.

Proper solution is fixing this in Ares.
