Black screen after disabling direct draw (anti-lag threat)

Hi!,

If I disable hardware acceleration (either via ddraw.dll or direct x) my game only shows a black screen and sound and movable mouse.
I have seen other threads coming to no conclusion why this is the case on some computers - do you know something?

Edit: I want to unlag this game, I already switched to compatibility mode, put VideoBackBuffer=no in RA2MD.ini, set the game t specific cores ... RA3 worked without any slowdowns.

Weren't you using ARES? thus doing buffer etc disable is unnecessary.

Hardware acceleration, which operating system you run? the later OS are bound to cause an issue as its normally not disableable anymore.

I am running Windows 7 Direct X 11.1 and using ares which automatically activates software rendering but not on newer systems because of those problems.
