Among the most famous toys the movie Back to the Future II has shown, is the Hoverboard.
In Back to the Future II, Marty travels to 2015 and since we have 2015, the future is now.

there are other approaches like the Hendo hoverboard

Rumors say Nike will release shoes with power laces this year

These from a special edition that were auctioned in 2011 didn't have the power laces yet.

The Lexus "hoverboard" that works only on one specially constructed circuit and no where else and similarly the he do "hoverboard" that works on one specially constructed copper half pipe. Which the guy lilooks like he's even struggling to get the thing moving. In fact I think that's the same Tony Hawks used and could barely get the thing to do a 360. Arguably the greatest skater ever.

These things are complete gimmicks. It amazes me that people fund this shit on kickstarter, and how they falsely advertise it.

Anyway hoverboards aren't here sadly. Maybe in another 30/40 years. But for now we are not even close.

yes, you can set for example [img=400] to set the width of the image to 400 pixel (height is adjusted accordingly)

e.g. width set to 50

But its not, its a gimmick, to either get money from a kickstarter campaign or for media attention (LG) or both.
Cashing in on the fact its 2015, back to the future 2 etc.

The engineering and technology in all these 'hoverboards' isn't new, innovative or intuitive.
