I released one.
Looking back the border lines in the minimap area, now i have the map image WW used there, would probably be the only change i would make in that psd(just looking at the image tho haven't looked at the psd).

The method that I know is to convert it down to 255 colors and do a copy as PAL in XCC Mixer. I use a program called Irfanview to do the conversion but I think using GIMP or Photoshop would work just fine.

Wink

programs:

-Photoshop
-Shp Builder
-Xcc Mixer

1.- Open your pic with Photoshop, and click in the indexation mode.

2.- Select the number of indexation

3.- save as the file... PCX format

4.- now open the Xcc mixer and extract the palette

5.- now create a new file with Shp Builder...

6.- now Load the palette

7.- later of select the palette, copy and paste the image from Photoshop to SHP Builder

:p

is Done!

Now, if only there was a convenient and fast way of organizing the custom palette akin to unittem.pal and the likes of it. It'd be much more human-friendly.

Unittem pal or terrain pal (TS) are manual work... (my opinion)
I unknown, how organized a palette...

Yeah, I can only think of doing it colour-by-colour X_x

Those palettes were most likely created manually and then objects were painted using them, instead of the other way around.

You don't even need SHP Builder for that - a 256 colored image copied as SHP in Mixer maintains the indexes of the internal palette so just Copy as PAL and Copy as SHP, done.

I found I needed to use SHP Builder occasionally. For some reason I got XCC Mixer copying it wrong despite using the correct palette.

Can convert the TS/RA2 pal to Jasc pal using Palette editor. Jasc pal can then be opened in a text editor and the
entries can be sorted. But that would need the dependent SHP files to be exported to a non-paletted image and
then imported again.
