3A Kodiak
Made my old model (which was used for VXL-conversion) a bit more detailed for an upcoming SHP project.
I tried to stay as close as possible to the original as shown in the FMVs. Several details on the VXL version were quite wrong and would have been even more visible on a SHP version.
Nice work! It would be great if you used this to remake the landed Kodiak building in TS, which was ridiculously tiny. It should probably be the same size as the Kodiak wreckage in Firestorm. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
Very nice, although it's still maybe half the size of the Kodiak wreckage. I always thought the wreckage showed the correct size of the Kodiak, since its supposed to be the same size as the Scrin ship (as mentioned in one of the FMVs). _________________ QUICK_EDIT

I wonder if the translation was bad for the german version, since in this fmv (gdi_m03.vqa) they say translated "It's almost as big as one of our carriers".
They don't mention the Kodiak or something like "command ship". So carrier could be also a naval carrier like a Nimitz. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings

No, you're right, in the original they also talk about carriers: "It's easily the size of one of our carriers" is the exact sentence. I always assumed they meant the Kodiak class, though, since those are used not only as command vehicles, but apparently as freight ships as well (see Firestorm's first cutscene). Their huge size allows them to carry a lot of cargo. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
Good to know they didn't screw up the translation.
btw, if you're interested, using the ingame cutscene of the montauk and kodiak next to each other and the people shown walking next to the Kodiak, i figured out the real size.
Kodiak:
Length: 54 m
Width: 28.5 m
Height: 15 m (to the top of the sensor array, but without the 2 antennae) 18 m with antennae
So this would be the measurements (+- 1m) if it would exist in reality. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
Interesting. That would make it rather small, as a Titan is supposed to be 8 meters tall IIRC.
Bah, screw it, Westwood never had a consistent scale to work with anyway. In one shot a huge object is tiny in another...
I think the scale would work quite well.
attached is an expanded size comparison, based on Eric Gooch's image.
Also attached the image from the FMV, showing humans in front of the Kodiak.
On the comparison shot, the right MMKII and Kodiak are my recreations. The infantry between them to measure their scale.
I measured the Kodiak scale again, using a more accurate human model, as shown in the attached image.
If the Infantry is 1.80 m in reality, the measurements of the Kodiak and MMKII are
Kodiak:
Length: 58 m
Width: 30.77 m
Height: 16.45 m (to the top of the sensor array, but without the 2 antennae) 19.84 m with antennae
MMKII:
Length: 24.68 m
Width: 15.5 m
Height: 15.2 m (to the top of the missile launcher, without the antenna)
Titan: (using Eric Gooch's image and the measured height of MMKII)
Height: 6.7 m (without the antenna)
