Need Help For Blender
Hello everyone, I'm started again moddelling but I need help for ımprove modelling skill and time to question.Im using blender.
-How can ı make ra2/cnc style texturing like a lko nooze kenosis. (any tip for that ?)
-How to create buildup animation for this civilian gates.
-I need easy way for a creating damaged and snowed versions.
-which one (up to down 1, 2, 3)
For buildup animations, Google "animations blender" first and kind of learn how animating works in blender. You might also want to take a look at using the boolean modifier on difference setting like DonutArnold suggested in my thread. It's not terribly hard depending on how complex you want the animation to be.
For damaged/snow versions, the easiest way which I did was convert it to a SHP then use SHP Builder's darken tool to darken spots on the SHP and use erase parts of the side. It doesn't create an incredibly intricate or interesting damage frame but it could suffice if you aren't too picky. There is a snow tool for putting snow on it as well. You're on your own for the animations though.
As for which gate looks best, I'd say the furthest up combined with the middle one where it has the barricade then a concrete bar above it would look best and more secure than any of them.
EDIT: I'd make a full concrete gate for the gate though, to be honest. Last edited by Darkstorm on Sat Mar 26, 2016 12:51 am; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
Texturing is all using photoshop/gimp to make your own texture, whether merging google'd textures or ones you've designed yourself. Most of us I think use a self-made duplication of the texture we want by eye.
I use either a blue matte plane that doesn't recieve or cast shadows or a slice modifier to slowly reveal parts during buildup. I wouldn't use more than 45 frames for this tbh, or your buildup will take more than 3 seconds @ standard speed and longer at lower. (I recently learned people play at 12fps alot {wtf?}) Making an animation is relatively simple in Blender though, the documentation is pretty decent, not to mention the tutorials (Though I believe the documentation says it better than any video).
Best way to make a damaged frame, I've found, is to save a duplicate; Call it say, "myBuilding_DM" for example; And subdivide/slice/displace/bend the model until it looks decently damaged. Looks good and you never have to worry about damaging your original.
I'd say the order they go, is the same order of the visiblity of a gate, First wouldn't hold out infantry obviously, but looks the clearest, and... this is RA2. I'd thin out the danger stripes and dirty them up, they're very bright and kinda hurt the eyes, IMO. _________________ "Don't beg for things; Do it yourself or you'll never get anything." QUICK_EDIT
