Rather than ask a gazillion little tiny questions like this, why don't you learn 1 thing at a time and do that until you don't need to anymore, then move on to the next topic. So say you want to make new units, learn how to make voxels and add them, don't worry about the cameos or the AI or anything else.

One thing at a time.

Think of it like this: You have a really nicely decorated restaurant and the food is awful, and right next to it you have an ugly restaurant with fantastic food, where are you going to eat? Your mod doesn't need cosmetics first, it needs substance first.

It's not easy to learn, You may need to take long time to learn everything, (weeks or months).

Indeed. Learning takes time. You have to invest to get something.

As the others said, learn small things. One at a time. Explore and read. In a while you will start understanding what you need to do what you want.

Usualy some things that you want to make are contained in one or two units that are already in the game (TS+FS or RA2+YR).

I strongly encourage you to explore.... ALOT. Smile

For these palette-related issues, there's a feature in XCC mixer that helps you find out which palette is used by an image. Simply select the SHP file, and switch through the palettes (View > Palet > Red Alert 2 or Keyboard Shortcuts: Ctrl + [ and Ctrl + ])

Switch through palettes until the image looks normal. The status bar (bottom) will tell you which palette is selected when you change palettes. Easy enough.

I have to classify you as most hopeless case in years of modding I've seen, mere very basics seem to be overwhelmingly complex to the point of absurd.

Your either a troll or you truly are not too bright and perhaps modding is not for you and no amount of spoon feeding is gonna fix that if you do not try to truly learn yourself :/

silverwind, I am afraid you are wasting your time trying help this fella that lacks self-initiative.

Sheesh I learned all this on my own and some can't even work out basics without step by step guide or using the million tutorials available... Rolling Eyes
