New version of ViPr's 3ds2vxl released!
ViPr has reported at Sleipnir Stuff that he has released a new version of 3ds2vxl, the program that convert .3ds files into voxels. Here's his words on the new features:
"anyway. one of the bugs i found was that it didn't always correctly find the maximum and minimum bounds of the models. and another thing i changed is that texture seams don't necessarily cause smoothing seams anymore. so basically the normals should be more accurate now from the 3ds models but that's quite pointless with the RA2 format normals still being totally scrambled. this improvement slows down the program but it shouldn't be that noticeable with simple models anyway. i can't remember the other changes i did though. probably just made the code more neat and a lot of it was probably just stuff to prepare the 3d model viewer to be used in my game engine."
And also his words in his site:
"Just a bunch of bug fixes and overhauls to make things more accurate so some things may run slower while other things run faster, but I bet mostly slower knowing my luck. Still no progress on 3d acceleration though. Sorry. Hopefully it will happen when I get a new graphic card that can play the next generation of games like Doom 3, Half-Life 2, and Far Cry."
