New Terrain Problem
This is quite a long problem, so settle in.
As you may or may not know, I've been creating a new autumnal terrain for YR by replacing the lunar one. Effectively, I extracted all the files from isotem.mix and temperat.mix, renamed all .tem files to .lun, and placed them into an expandmd##.mix along with a lunarmd.ini (copied from temperatmd.ini) and an isolun.pal file. When this file was in the RA2 directory, loadng a lunar map caused it to crash about 3/4 the way along the loading bar and did nothing to FA2, that stayed the same.
I honestly can't figure out why it's crashing as all I've effectively done is replaced the lunar terrain with a modified temperate terrain (and then, only the palette is different). If anyone has a clue as to why it isn't working, please help! _________________

I believe that's only logical, as using a temperatemd.ini as lunar.ini will reenumerate most tiles (why TX keeps dummy entries in the lists, instead of adding them later?). Preexisting lunar map calls for specific tiles which you reenumerate or whatever. Take a temperate map, modify it manually to say Theater=LUNAR, and test. Now it shouldn't crash. But... all the preexisting maps are screwed. So, don't do it that way. QUICK_EDIT
It's a great idea (making new theaters) !!! I think I'm gonna make somthin' for my mod too...... Or maybe not... _________________ I said: "I'll be back". And here I am QUICK_EDIT

yeah, that would be cool... I'll mirror it at C&C Central as well if you would like me to. And another Idea, you could write a tutorial for it. _________________ Formerly active PPM modder (maps, voxels, sprites) and Webmaster of C&C Central in the early 2000's on the Origin/Revora network. That's a good idea, I'll start writing one now. Also, the pack will be released as soon as there are maps out that actually use it. I suppose there's no problem in letting you mirror it but I'll warn you that it is 13Mb, without any maps included. _________________
