I agree that a base in Starcraft II takes too long to build, but you are having a very simplified conclusion about Rivals. Rivals is a game that, if it wasn't for the missile in the center, it would be very similar to Tiberian Twilight. So, think more carefully next time QUICK_EDIT
it really weird in SC2 while you take 15 min just to build up economy , I manage to access 3 carrier at 7min and end the game around 13 with golden armada... (and I not even pro) the game also could end in 3 min just to die by opponent bunker , proton cannon or zergling rush. :p QUICK_EDIT

You can do that in RA2 and YR (maybe even TS too). And you have no pop-cap there QUICK_EDIT
Yeah in YR with AI I usually finish game in 10min with high tech units but access high tech unit in Starcraft far more challenge since you need to make sure opponent didn't try to kill you off since early game.
And truly I saw pop cap as positive function since it make decision on unit production feel more meanful... only my complain to starcraft is the battle just too fast for me to micro anything... QUICK_EDIT

HERESY! DIE IN THE NAME OF KANE!
The problem with YR's AI is it's dumb compared to TS'.
If I may make a suggestion, go try to win a skirmish against a hard AI with this: https://www.moddb.com/mods/vs-ini/downloads

but truly I still like C&c more than Starcraft because it setting and less stress gameplay, conflict between human origin faction away more appearl to me than alien which is reason I prefer to have Empire of Rising sun over C&c3 scrin...
I didn't play Ra2yr for long time now I can't even beat Yuri ai in original hard difficult XD. QUICK_EDIT
Without all the BIAS, I think the game is mediocre at best, as it has zero map variation, lots microtransactions and a very boring objective comparted to the old RTS.
You cant even implement the classic strategies of these type of games (expansion, teching up, rush)
On the other hand, I like the controls, the designs are okay, and the lore is off the window, and ignoring your own lore is a sin in my opinion. _________________
I can see many room to improve apon the design in this game If not because timer loot box and level mechanic outside the battle I would play it... I like the idea how they make it work on single screen and unit control.
(this is what you get when people complain starcraft is just click fest and some how EA nail it! :p) QUICK_EDIT
Rivals will be an okay mobile game. Emphasis on mobile here. For a mobile game, it works well and works for the input device. It's not meant to be a super serious venture into storytelling or narrative that full C&C titles were (TT doesn't count). If you take it for what it is - a mobile spinoff - it's not the worst thing ever. _________________ KGR | AT

Ya this my last post here. I was playing rivals today and I kept thinking to myself every time I was up against a much higher level person than me that wow how did they play so many matches to get so high level? It must have been painful, I was one of those people who thought Lawbreakers was good when it came out but then realized no its not after the novelty wore off. a lot of people realized how bad it was before me. I think the same situation happened here. Most people are disgusted by C&C: Rivals and for whatever reason I was open minded about it but ya... There just isn't enough to do in the game and I'm not interested in grinding to unlock new units. ya it adds some more variety but its still the same game. Every new thing I unlocked eventually got stale again after a match or two. I feel the grinding system is disrespectful to my time. I know phone games have zero respect for the player but I find it unacceptable. I think there is a lack of depth in the game. It relies too much on unit countering and lacks everything else. I even almost installed Tiberian Twilight again because the gameplay is so similar but after watching a video of Tiberian Twilight I remembered why its trash. I'm sure there's plenty of people who will play Rivals especially given the low IQ and low standards of people who play phone games. That's not to say I think PC games are for smart people. You just have to put your foot down when you realize the company does not respect your time and energy by making you grind and playing mind games with you like its a casino game trying to reward you with gambling mechanics.
I also never upgraded any of my units. And although I still managed to fight and win against people who level'd up their units I also find it insulting that i would have to fight enemy infantry squads in packs of two to have a chance at killing their upgraded infantry squad for example. I'd look at their unit level and be like wow their infantry or tank is level 5. Mine is level 2 I better avoid that battle or overwhelm them. I had no motivation to spend my casino gambling coins on units that I may end up replacing when I unlock a new unit.
