Animation weapons are unrelated, but they work like so:

[ELECTRO]
Weapon=20mm
What this does is make ELECTRO fire the 20mm weapon at it's origin point.
Now for your plane problem: Before Ares Crashable=no doesn't work on aircraft; With Ares Crashable works and stops it from crashing.
