Should PPM expand its Generals support/contents as a lift to support a future Command & Conquer 3? Yes or No? Post your opinions... either if it's an interesting thing, or if it's a big waste of time... or if you have a completely different opinion on this matter. We wanna read your opinions on this matter Wink.

Well, how do you propose that we expand support?

Isn't it really just what interests the forum members? So if enough forum members aren't interested it won't ever get very far.

Why not, Generals at least has good modding potential.

Well, what I have in mind so far is:

- expansion of modding forums (research and map archive)
- promote someone who knows how to mod generals to moderate them #Tongue
- hire new generals projects
- expand generals affiliations (only one mod so far, Call To Arms)
- promote the 3D Models forum
- etc...

so, people just vote without commenting, or giving ideas or anything? We have a tie in the moment... 5 for yes and 5 for no... Come on! Post your opinion about it...

Banshee do you really have enough time to worry about Gen/ZH modding too?

Aren't there enought Gen/ZH modding forums out their already?

Why don't we just point people to Revora, Sleipnir's Stuff and DeeZire.Net?

Since no one seems very enthusiastic about the idea, why bother?

Kravvitz, there are some advantages to think about.

- First of all, is the 3D modelling part. Although 3D is not a required skill to mod old C&C RTS games, they are quite usefull and may help to improve their graphical quality

- Command & Conquer 3 (to be released in 2006 or 2007) will probably be made on the Sage engine, same than Generals/Zero Hour, but with more details.

- Generals community attracts more visitors and they might be people who once modded TS or RA2 and may miss the good ol' days Wink.

And there are a group of people who visits here that also edits Generals... but due to the current inpopularity of the (currently crap) Generals support, there is really nothing to post at the moment....

I personally think it can be positive in many ways... but it's being a hard poll, as far as I see...

I vote yes because many ppl like the game and want to mod it but don't know how.

i agree with loki, but also it's an extra, more things can only lead to better things(well in this case), i personaly don't have the slightest idea how to mod generals, but then i've never attempted. Thats cause it's not avavailable, i would learn if information was on forums i visit reg. but out of CNC modding i only visit ppm(for the past few years) and cnc-crimson dawn(souly for the fact the mod intruiges(spelling?) me.)

i'd love to see this place support generals more and i'd love to help you guys out to get off the ground an get started.
