CnCNet and mods
I have a problem with running mod on CnCNet. I just installed it and then put all required files into directory.
Then i copied all mod files (.mix files, artmd and rules.ini)inside game directory but all changes didn't show in game. It still works as vanilla version. How i can make my mod work? QUICK_EDIT
Read my posts in the thread referred by 4StarGeneral completely. If you downloaded the CnCNet client and haven't updated then use old INI entries. If you have updated the client then use the new set of entries from my first post in that thread. QUICK_EDIT
Yes, it works and game didn't ask for CD. But my mod still didn't work. I just put rulesmd.ini and several .mix files which contains some new graphics into game directory and added some new units (like Hind Transport), but game didn't see it, it still works like vanilla game. Changes didn't take any effect. No new units or graphics. QUICK_EDIT
I tried to remove them, but game won't work without this file.
But as far as i know. Mods like Reloaded using CnCNet, but i didn't see any xdp files here. Maybe i need different version of CnCNet? QUICK_EDIT
Replace the spawner.xdp with your copy of rulesmd.ini for offline purpose.
Mods compile their own clients with these kind of changes. Client files are typically the Resources\client*.exe and Binaries folder, but I wouldn't know what other changes mods do. QUICK_EDIT

I am an idiot with zero knowledge of this, so I wish to break it down to idiot levels.
So I grab my RulesMD.ini, and rename it to Spawner.xdp and that's it? _________________ MIdAS - Turning wages into beer since 2002 QUICK_EDIT
Yes. I make mod working by modifying spawner.xdp. But there is other problem. It sees changes only in spawner file. I replaced some old voxels with new ones, but game didn't see them. It just didn't see contents of .mix files. QUICK_EDIT
It sounds weird, but i found solution. expandmd files should be renamed into expandmdspawn, so it will make their content visible in game.
But other problem. It seems i can't play with new sides. I did everything in topic before, and i can even select this new sided, but game crashes. QUICK_EDIT
I'm resurrecting this because I can't run any mods through CnC net.
So far I tried (also combined)
- copying the cncnet5.dll to game folder
- making a .mix copy named with "spawned" suffix
- dropping the rulesmd in there and copying it over spawner.xdp
Only string names seem to change and some units without any art after copying the rules over spawner.xdp.
