I'm having some problems with changing the Titan. I blanked out the turret/head graphics from the .shp to replace it with a voxel (mmchtur.vxl), but it won't display ingame. I think it's pretty strange, since the game allows a .shp unit to have a voxel barrel...

You might wanna change art.ini too.. btw, it's very well possible that there's some stuff that's hardcoded (for MMCH). The only tag in art.ini that relates to this is walkframes=15. It basically means that the first 8x15 frames are for walking and the remaining 32 for the rotating turret. It might mean that the game completely your new MMCHTUR.vxl because afterall there IS a turret inside the MMCH.shp

You could ofcourse always create a MMCHBARL.vxl that's not just a barrel but also the body.

I did look at the art.ini entries. When I said 'blanked out' I meant that I replaced every turret frame in mmch.shp with the background color. You are probably right about it being hardcoded. So I'll go with the barrel+turret in 1 voxel idea. I tried adding it as a new section in mmchbarl, but it seems 2 sections can't have separate voxel bounds so it got all screwed up.

I would just resize (ie canvas resize) the MMCHBARL voxel then draw the turret around it. You don't want two sections..

It's not that simple... I couldn't make voxels to save my life, I have this .3ds another guy made for me, which I converted to a voxel.

No worries though, he's remaking the barrel and putting it on the model.

Shp units have to have a shp turret & the barrel has to be vxl, don’t ask me why it’s like that, I have no idea. The best thing to do is combine the turret & barrel as DVD said but as you can’t do that you can just rename the mmchtur to mmchbarl, doing that tho will over right the original barrel but your turret will work

Hmm that looks pretty good already! (Although it looks weird without the barrel bug :p)

I'm still tweaking it, needs more remaps and those stupid green/purple dots are appearing on it (Even though I can't find any palette issues with it).

Coen from C-GEN did the model.

have you tried normalizing it in vxlse III to solve the dot problem?

Yes, but I don't believe that has anything to do with it?

Anyways, I'm done tampering with it now, and I'm quite happy with the results
