Help with making new SHP out of existing vanilla assets
Subject description: Make a Swimming Boris?
Hi!
I'm currently working on a for-fun mod (for myself and friends, no intentions of releasing publicly) for Yuri's Revenge, which is my first experience into any kind of modding.
Since I've started this work, I've been able to learn a ton about how to add and create new things in the files, but one thing I'm still stuck on is working with new SHPs.
What I'm wanting to do is take the swimming, treading, etc. frames of animation of the SEAL in the diving suit, and transfer them onto a new SHP with the land based animations of Boris (thus allowing him to be amphibious). I've been able to (I think) properly separate out the SEAL animation frames I want, but I cannot for the life of me figure the proper way to combine them with Boris's in a new file. With both OS SHP and ImageShaper, it either has massive gaps in the animation frames, or shadow frames running onto of the SEAL frames, or both.
Does anyone know the proper way I should be doing this (or better yet, a SEAL Boris hybrid SHP that already exists that I can just download? )
I think you are getting trouble with the file numbers. First half are normal frames and 2nd half are its corresponding shadow frames. The SHP file can be exported into individual images from say SHP Builder. From the point where the new files has to be inserted, all the numbers that come after that will have to be re-numbered and then imported to make the new SHP file. QUICK_EDIT
