Tiberian Twilight fans: give up! Red Alert 3 is the next!
I've recently heard of an email that some community webbies received straight from Mark Skaggs. I cannot confirm the veracity of the information below, although Hexetic, from Planet CnC is proving by any means that it's aparently not a hoax. Here's the info:

On the eve of one of our own major releases, The Lord of the Rings™, The Battle for Middle-earth™, the one thing we've grown to understand is how important the community - our most loyal supporters - is for industry. Having said that, we have a MAJOR announcement to make and we are making it exclusively to our long time C&C fans. This announcement is not going out to the press and it won't appear on the EA website or anywhere else online. We are very proud to announce that the team that brought you Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 2™, Command & Conquer™ Yuri's Revenge™, and Command & Conquer™ Generals has officially started work on our next project set in the Red Alert universe!
As I mentioned, we're very proud to ship what we feel is one of the best RTS games ever released. Most of you have probably heard of The Lord of the Rings™, The Battle for Middle-earth™ which hits stores this week. We've introduced some really innovative features and gameplay mechanics, which you should definitely check out when you get a chance. People are so pessimistic about this it's sad. The WORST possible outcome of this is that it'd just be a good modding platform. The e-mail points towards more support for people who want to make their own assets and mods. Also, the SAGE engine most likely allows for easy porting for Generals mods. They will most likely go back to the construction yard system, as most people disliked the Blizzard-style dozers, and this is a great thing for CnC-universe mods like TFTW. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

this is my proposed theory on RA3
first off lets look at the clues...
1)Kane is known to have had past relations with the soviets
2) If you look at the setting of each RA it goes from a few years after WW2 (cold war developed into an actual combat state of war), to about some where in the 90's, and with ra3 it would probably take you to just before TD (way better graphics though).
3) I dont know if its just me, but have you noticed a connection between the RA series and the Tiberian series? (research it @ www.afterglow.com)
so what im saying is that this RA will bring us up to the point were tiberian starts and RA ends. QUICK_EDIT

TD takes place in the mid-1990's. TS in 2030. Also, Hitler was kinda dead any time after 1945. In the RA intro, that is back in 1927 just after Hitler is released from prison. He is killed to prevent WW2 ever happening, causing an alternate timeline. _________________

but CnC are all rated 16 because of the gore 18 games are never of 18 content because people do actualy want to se hard core porn in games but that would be too good _________________ QUICK_EDIT
I dont think its legal to develope +18 games, atleast not in Australia.
Oh & AlliedGeneral WW was still WW when they made Tiberian Sun, some proof is the fact that they had a good storyline & awesome cinematics; EA dosnt use cinematics (example; generals) because it 'costs a little more money' & all EA wants is money, & if red alert 3 dosnt have cinematics for the campaign, im not gonna play it. the point of the over 18 thing is that games for 18+ are genrally harder then others (not just in content either) so EA always make likkle cute easy games to satisfy the whole market range. I guess that battlefield 1942 is half decent.. I own it and one of its expansion packs...
but on generals, its cinematics... (if they could be called that, its basicly a female voice talking to you and pictures of the new units you get in that mission, and scenes from the mission... after that, it's scenes ingame...

Did you notice in the e-mail that they said that they were the proud developers of RA2, yuri's revenge, and Generals, but not RA, TD, TS, or Renegade. Is this for some mundane reason, or is there a sinister side to the omission?
Theory 1: They think that the omitted games are poor quality.
Theory 2: They only include the most recent games, except possibly for renegade, which may not have been released at the time the email was sent.
Theory 3: They want to distance themselves from the omitted games, because they don't want embarrasing comparisons to be drawn between TD or TS and RA2 or Generals, such as the fact that TS is (the odds are evens) better than RA2 in gameplay, as well as having an excellent story-line, and I gather that RA2 has very little. _________________ *suddenly appears behind superior officer*

Theory 4: The EA people do not want comparisons to be drawn between RA2, Generals, etcetera, and the REAL C&C Games, from before WW was bought out by EA. The real C&Cs are now owned by EA, like they own the rest of WW, bt they simply don't want to spend the money to get a game that is worthy of being called Command & Conquer (or capable of bringing in huge amounts of cash). Old C&C games were not made by Skagg's team. They were made by Westwood Studios. RA2, YR, Generals and ZH were made by Westwood Pacific/EA Pacific/EALA and Mark Skaggs was the executive producer. _________________
