The title suggests everything I got to say... The new patch came up so I cannot use my files anymore - they add new buildings, units and stuffs...
2 months ago I posted a thread about how to add texts when capturing a Tech Building - and the key is creating a new .csf file and edit it with XCC Mixer.
But that's .csf file... this time it's .ini files.
I want to ask: Can I create a new .ini file that do not affect the original rulesmo.ini and artmo.ini to add my mod to it, just like I did with .csf file, and how do I do that?
Thanks in advance.

The client's update function deleted the INIs you made?

One way to add a modification that doesn't require INIs is to make that modification in the map file:
Code:
[BUILDING_ID]
Message.Capture=CSF_String
Message.Lost=CSF_String

If the CSF_String you once used is still in a stringtableXX.csf, it'll work just fine, else you'll get the "MISSING:" prefix.
This way though you'll need to do this for every single map file, and if you play online against others they might get a "host is usng a map you don't have" or similar.
You'll be limited to just rules INI changes, and maps are also slightly limited there.

There isn't an INI you can add your modifications to on top of the existing mod.
Not because it isn't possible, but because MO doesn't allow/intend for this to happen.

But they could, since Ares has a [#include] section that can load other INIs.

Can you explain that "#include section" ?

I wanted to ask about this too: I made custom INI files with only specified sections and flags for, Mental Omega, the vanilla YR game, and TS, but it doesn't work at all, is there a way to make a INI file with few specified sections and flags which override the original "rulesx.ini"?
