Subject description: An obscure Chinese light tank
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

This is based on a modernized Type 62 light tank, with a 105mm gun on a welded turret. Addition features such as side skirt and front armor package are taken from T-55AM.

It has both an AAMG and a missile launcher. The latter is intended as AA launcher, given its slender profile.

This tank is the 3rd voxel I made from scratch. Personally I am not satisfied with the poor contrast between the turret base and the hull, and how plain the front armor is.

the scale and design is good, but small details on voxels end up looking like what happens to the text in images when they are shrunk down and then saved as .jpeg

IT looks like you're fighting the normals with shading, so that you end up with solid dark anytime the surface or edge is out of the spotlight zone.

@McPwny
Thanks, man. It was a rookie mistake trying to make the voxels closely matching the real-life vehicles, yet I overlooked the fact that this voxel is based on both T-55AM and ZTQ-62G, with fantasy elements mixed in.

@G-E
I tried to base the color of this tank after shin.peter.pan's excellent voxels, but lost my sense while detailing its hull and ended mixed with Creator black-remap style. The first part gave it a rather dark color, which combined with excessive detailing, probably ruined the normals. You can see the contrast with my PT-100M, whose color choice I largely copied from Creator's voxels.
