The movies were good. I've got them in my collection.

I've read the majority of the dune books. I haven't read any of Brian Herbert's books...

Read all the origianl Dune books, watched all the films/miniseries and played all the games. Still debating on reading the new Dune books (they are riddled with inconsistencies and poor character/story development).

Yes, I'm a bit of a Dune fanboy #Tongue

'Nuff said I think.

What threw you off about the CH:D ending?

It just didn't seem to wrap things up. I wonder if he was going to write another book but didn't before he died.

Frank Herbert had the workings of a further book, but never wrote it. Whether he felt wis works needed another volume or not is debatable, as the notes he left on the potential 7th book weren't even known about by his son, and were discovered quite by accident.

Apparently, Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson plan to write the 7th. Given how their current stuff lacks the spark of imagination and the full polish of FH's efforts, I think the 7th book will be another POS full of inconsistencies and poor story characters. Sad really, but there you go; more bastardisation of FH's literary Magnum Opus.
