YES!!!!!!  I finally worked out how to animate in 3ds max. (press nor Auto Key... see how stupid i am?)
This is a buildup for some sort of refinery. What do you think?

Other than the fact the animation is going the wrong way and it's still untextured, good.

thankyou, about the things going through each other, i see no other way, so i believe this is the best, and at least it fits into westwood style.
