Like the title I am just wanna know if we can find the way to apply the overlay or tint or paint the color on the unit similar to how Psychedelic gas or chaos drone gas is working but no psychedelic applied. Or paint the building like boris but not the airstrike.

Such as making unit turn green and using attach effect do have green skull animation symbol popping out of a unit in under influence of being poisoned.

Or turn frozen as light blue.. etc. I don't know if these thing can be done?

It was a feature request for future versions of Ares. Since AlexB is absent about 2 years, I don't know the consequence. Also Phobos developers can work about it in future, but for now, it is limited for IronCurtain,AirstrikePainter,ForceShield and Psychedelic...

Can AttachedEffects be a slow animation that is translucent to mimic it?

Yes, I think Mental Omega Allied Cryocopters already use this.   #Tongue

But why no better one ?  Rolling Eyes

No, that one is just displaying an animation large enough to cover the whole unit to make it looks like they are frozen.

I guess when you have multiple tint on the same units, those effects just become visually indistinguishable. I don't see any practical point to having such feature.

when i suggested that phobos integrate this exact effect for shields instead of animation loops, i was told that the logic was too complex and cpu intensive
anyways. i imagine that adding a feature where larger anims can be overlayed and rendered only on top of an object would work but i guess thats off topic
with the answer being that no, you cant do it yet.

You have a good point of that one. well if you try the RA3 if unit got poisoned (turn green) and frozen at the same time how the game handle it? RA3 just simply show the last overlay of weapon but since all debuffs doesn't take that long so the game still going smooth and nice.

If we put the iron curtain on the psychedelic unit. it doesnt show both overlay right? just the last effect will be shown but all buff or debuffs still applied meaning that unit still goes berserk and killing everyone.

I would like to know more about this. If I could overlay the animation on them but I don't want as blocky animation. I did not have omega asset to understand their coding and animation.
