Movies for Halloween
Subject description: best horror suited movies for Halloween season to watch
Hello mortals! In a very short time, the Halloween season will start! One of ,,the must" activities are watching horror movies, especially on Halloween night itself!
Movies should be horror or similar, should be scary as possible or good old monster movies, whatever type, or even better, movies set on Halloween night! Let's discuss and recommend movies. Here is what I can suggest so far:
The Exorcist (1973)
This movies is very recommended! It is good, scary enough with cool monster effects. It is about demonic possession, and priest trying to save girl.

Halloween (1978)
Good movie! When one madman escapes asylum, and start bullying and killing people on Halloween night! It has chilling moments. Oh, and as set on Halloween night, you can expect some carved pumpkins, decorations and masks...

Trick 'r Treat (2007)
I highly recommend this movie as well! It is anthology movie, set in same area but with few different separated sub-stories, which at the end proves that they are all somehow related. It has a nice story, good effects and some chills, very nice! Oh, it is also set on Halloween night!

The Nun (2018)
This movie is scary. It has a lot of jump scares, nice ambient. it comes straight out of ,,Conjuring" movies. it is a supernatural movie about demons.

Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Sleepy Hollow movie is based on Sleepy Hollow stories, about headless horsemen killing and terrorizing the local town. Johny Depp is playing Ichabod Crane, a detective who should discover mystery and track killer. There are very beautifull effects suitable for such genres, it won't disappoint. I can't remember exactly, I do not think that movie is set on Halloween directly but there are lot of Jack O' Lanterns in movie.

Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)
This movie is a cult one! Nice story, it is interesting, nice ambient and creature effects, good actor casting! Not scary for my taste, but it is definitively worth of watching!

MadHQ, haha! Freedy and Jason and Hellraiser! Modern classics. I prefer more old classics from ,,black and white" such as Dracula, Frankenstein, Invisible Man etc... I will make list about them as well.
By the way, I saw that you put Devil's rejects from 2005! I like that movie! It was awesome. I think it is a sequence to House of 1000 corpses, something like that. I love how they are insane and torture and kill people, and there is also that insane sheriff as well, who is torturing them in turn for each victim they made.

Now, time for my favorite timeless classics!
Dracula (1931)
Dracula is one of the first and well-known monsters! Bela Lugosi did fantastic job here! That amazing movie is filled with awesome ,,old school" effects such as castles, bats, fogs, naked trees, coffins... there are vampires, everything supernatural! Not scary movie, since it comes from old era when movies just began to get sounds, but still, it is a must for Halloween season!

Frankenstein (1931)
Another classic from 1931, Frankenstein monster itself! Same goes here, awesome ,,oldschool" effects, especially at the beginning, old graveyards with grim Reaper statues, coffins, clouds, naked trees! Also, in the laboratory with electricity, storms. Perfect for Halloween season! it is also worth of mentioning ,,Bride of Frankenstein" sequel! Boris Karloff played monster.

The Mummy (1932)
On year after Dracula and Frankenstein, The Mummy movies come! Little different from those because it starts in Egypt, excavating mummy. But it is also movie with style and monster to remember. Boris Karloff played mummy as well, and did nice job.

The Wolf Man (1941)
Another of the well known monsters! And this movie is one of the first werewolf movies. This is from 1941, 10 years after Dracula. Here we can see lot of effects such as fog, old trees, , dark, curses etc...

The Invisible Man (1933)
This is my favorite monster! That movie is awesome! Those invisibility effects are nicely done. Incredible job for that time! And that maniac laugh. By the way, the highest kill score of all those classic monsters actually made Invisible Man!

Phantom of the Opera (1943)
There is a silent movie, the first Phantom of the Opera from 1925, but I chose this one because it has sounds. Also, this one is in color actually! Not bad movie.

King Kong (1933)
Another awesome movie from 30s! King Kong is movie with impressive effects for that time! Large ape! It includes the fight against dinosaurs, clash in the city, New York from 30s, etc... Interesting movie!

The Man Who Laughs (1928)
Remember that gothic style Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man and others have? (fogs, graveyards, bats, naked trees...). well, base for that began here. This is silent movie about disfigured man who is serving as circus clown. That smile you cannot forget. In the matter of fact, creator of Jocker used it as base for Jocker!

Haxan (1922)
The oldest movie in my list, Haxan is definitively worth watching! it is almost 100 years old. You will see there witches, devils, all in that old fantastic style.

Haha yeah! I prefer ancient classics over new ones because of style and effects. But about scary stuff, I prefer modern ones.

-Underworld. I assume you meant the first part. I liked all Underworld movies when was younger 10 until 15 years ago. But those are modern action movies with werewolf and vampires, not horror.
-As Above, So Below. Oh I watched that movie. It is good, unique and scary somewhat. Upside down style haha
- Lifeforce. I do not believe that I watched it, but I heard that it is nice.
- The Thing. On which one do you mean? There is black and white from 50s, there is one from 80s I think with Kurt Russel and one from 2011. I watched them all.
- Hardware. I did not watch that one.
The Mist. I think you mean movies from 2007. I have watched it since it got released, but cannot remember much of it. But I remmeber that it was good.

Dog Soldiers (2002)
Dog soldiers is nice werewolf movies. its about some army members having military exercise in deep forest and mountains. And there, they suddenly mustprotect themselves from pack of werewolves.

Tales of Halloween (2015)
This is horror antology movie. it has tons of small submovies there. I think they were about 5-10 minutes! 10 of those parts are. Movie is nothing special, just average, but it has lot of Halloween proprs, effects and stuff, and idfferent monsters, aliens, killers... All that happens in same city or around it.

Grave Encounters (2011)
Oh, I did forget to include this movie on scary movies in the first post. It is located in a mental asylum! Some of blog reporters need to go there and ,,investigate" ghosts of madmen there. That movie is scary, has jumpscares, dark parts, corners... Nice!

The Shining (1980)
This is a famous cult film! Jack Nickolson did good job here. That movie is somewhat scary, has nice plot, story, location... Jack Nickolson running though mansion with axe is famous!

The Witch (2015 )
This movie is nice too. It is not scary much, but it focuses of family torn apart from witchcraft. It is located in nature, near woods, it has some nice effects, story. You will see there devil hidden in goat, witches, deaths...

The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)
This is also recommended and somewhat scary movie. The plot is mostly in the private mortuary where the father and son perform autopsy of one woman. What they did not know that it is corpse of a witch which is cursed.

The Woman in Black (2012)
Another supernatural horror, gothic, with the ghost of a woman dressed in funeral black dress. Daniel Radcliffe did a good job here. The movie is also somewhat scary. I like it.

The Rite (2011)
This movie is about a priest skeptic who is sent to Vatican to learn how to become an exorcist. Here are plenty of good and famous actors here such as Anthony Hopkins, Rutger Hauer, Alice Braga, Toby Jones... As one can expect, here are demonic possessions and effects that follow such movies.

The Invisible Man (2020)
This newest Invisible Man movie is good and refreshing. Here, instead of traditional serum, brilliant madman uses hight tech suit which makes him invisible. He is a bully and is terrorizing his ex-girlfriend and some people around.

Season of the Witch (2011)
This movie is good as well. Set in medieval time, we can see here plague, undeads, witch, demons, wild cursed wolves...
