Visceroid-spawning weapons in TS
Is it possible to create weapons that would spawn Visceroids from infantry in TS? If Yes, then How?

I know this topic is kinda advanced, however, it is a question. When you research, you have an objective, plans to reach this objective and you test, test, test and post the results of your test in the topic... If you are simply asking something, then, post here.
Anyway, if your warhead has a particle system attached and this particle system is derived from gas (I think it is gas, not sure), it probably works. _________________

hmm... by using "behaveslike=gas" everytime you use the weapon gas clouds would appear!
you also have to set weapon damage to "0" if you want to spawn visceroids from infantry!
if you use this weapon against vehicles the gas will destroy them and you'll get visceroids, too! _________________ leader of the World War III TC for TS
Behaves= is a particle system tag, not weapon... Maybe you wanted to say AttachedParticleSystem=, but this will spawn a cloud as a muzzle. In order spawn a cloud you should set Particle=*name_of_gas_particle_sys* in your [Warhead]. Remember that in Particle= you should specify not a particle, but a particle system.
Edit:
The best way to recreate Ren tib rifle is:
1. Clone large gas particles and system (without Next= and the fadeout particle)
2. Change Image= to DIRTEXPL (.shp)
3. Decrease cloud particle lifetime to 15 (amount of frames in dirtexpl)
4. Create a warhead which will have Verses=5,etc (dont damage infantry much by weapon, mostly only by particle)
5. Add a tag Particle=NameOfYourNewParticleSys
6. Create a weapon with Warhead=NameOfYourNewWarhead
Aaand voila! Here you go!

I've just tried to do it and despite the new, modified gas particle system and particle, it uses normal gas cloud sys (looks like hardcoded).
However it did turn infantry into visceroids, it also spawed the long-lasting gas clouds, not DIRTEXPL...
But I want to try it the FS way, I know how will it work. In particle system you should set BehavesLike=WeakGas, not Gas... I did this ages ago just as an eye candy, now I gonna try it for visc-turning weapon. It should work...

Doesn't work. I mean WeakGas doesnt do any damage, even infantry doesn't crawl while standing in its clouds. But the image works fine....
So:
- BehavesLike=Gas, on particle system will turn this to [GasCloudSys] - it kinda hardcoded (ztype WW). It spawns large, long-living gas clouds, death to visceroid is guaranteed. But we dont need everalasting clouds...
- BehavesLike=WeakGas works good - its image and all other parameter can be modified. All except Damage=. So, it just an eye candy and cannot do the visc death
Conclusion: the perfect tiberian auto-rifle in TS is impossible unless you are going edit the global [GasCloud1] particle entry. _________________ in 2009 to Florence. Viva Italia! QUICK_EDIT
