So let's say the long range weapon can fire between 10 and 15 range, the mid range one between 5 and 10 and the short range one below 5.
Assuming I do everything to lock this range (no alt range on elite, etc) would this actually work or is it futile to attempt it (due to the Primary/Secondary concerns)? QUICK_EDIT
You can add more then 2 weapons with Gatling logic but Range= cant be used to decided what weapon a unit will use.
The weapon's Verses= & the unit's Armor= tags are used to control what weapons a unit can uses against different targets. The best you could do it make a short ranged weapon to used against infantry, mid for units & long ranged for buildings etc. _________________
Impossible. Game only switch weapon when Verses/Naval/LandTargeting forbids the specific weapon used. You can't make it use weapon depending on range. Just no way.
The best simulation you can do is an Opentopped vehicle with different passengers simulating different ranged weapons, and vehicle itself bearing a dummy weapon of full range coverage so that its passengers will fire on their own when in right range. To further restrict the behaviour of passengers to make it looks like it's the vehicle itself shooting, you HAVE to use engine expansions like Kratos. QUICK_EDIT
