Is it possible to make an AI script like

- gather at enemy base
- deploy
- use IC
- undeploy
- attack ?

I also could use this on HINDs or my deployable aircraft.

Is there a reason this would not work ?
Anyone tried this for deployable air units ?

Gathering scripts have difficulty with flying units unless the flying unit is significantly faster to get to the target, and could be a problem if you use more than one as they'll try to land on the same cell.

I'm guessing you're trying to make an invincible air attack?

if there was a problem in the script it could be either because the unit-to-unit deploy method of the siege chopper doesnt
register the deploy command, or because there isnt a time buffer between the first deploy and the next action potentially
making it try to IC the unit or even undeploy when its not ready to.

jumpjet units and the seige chopper in particular are notorious for getting stuck mid-script due to pathing problems.

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding the delay, a "guard" mode could introduce some delay between deploy and IC.

With Seige choppers and other Choppers I seem to have some other problems also. I have some miner hunt scripts and they don't seem to go active; the Choppers are being build but there's no actual hunt happening. The script is the default miner hunt one.

if it gets out of the factory and does nothing, its most likely the pathing issues i mentioned earlier. blackhawk copters will do the same thing
if they ever stop above water. my speculation is that it is trying to land in order to move on to the next action in both cases; i dont know a fix

I've noticed that for deployable air units something is wrong, they will just not move out of near spawn point. I'm adapting various choppers and 1 fighter to be perma-hover; then everything works, they attack and it's good.

I'll give up on this idea for now.

I wonder how siege attack actually works in one of the SP missions. I'll have to dig this out at a later point.

Seige Chopper has never worked in Skirmish. Air units can't take a deploy command from the AI, I believe the same happens if you give something a hover locomoter.

The deploying siege chopper works in SP missions because they are using map waypoints for their pathfinding (move to the this specific cell) instead of a generic AI script (move to this area).
