Here is my concept of a Cylon Heavy tank for my Battlestar Galactica mod (the humans found Earth, and now battles are fought there on the ground) I hope you like it, as this is my first ever 3d model, and I am no artist

first off, I am going to convert it to .vxl format (if it looks good) because my mod is for Tiberian Sun.

Secondly, what is a poly and how do i reduce the poly count?

poly is sortof the triangles (simplified as edges) and if you look at the tubes they contain ALOTS of polys as the have thousands of polys that makes them look smooth.... by reucing the polys they will be less smooth but wont make games as choppy. and if your going to convert it to voxel dont forget the textures!

and area even you can count them...err there are thoushands of polys in those bloody tubes..more than the himan eye can count!

AND IF ANYONE COMES UP WITH SOMETHING LIKE WOW DENMON GAVE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISM IAM GONNE KILL HIM!!!

It looks very good, and I wold be extremely surprised if there were thousands, or even several hundred polys in the cannons. I mean, look at the atachment, It looks very smooth, but there are less that 150 polys in it. There are 122 faces in it, and there could have been many less and it would still look perfectly cylindrical! Anyways, its very good for a first! Good job!  #Fade in

I just tried to make it as "robotic" as i could (yes, i do know that a tank is mechanical) and something about my concept drawing (2d, side view, oh yeah) makes it look evil, like a menace to the human species

Well, if the tank is robotic, it can have a very low silhouette, small turret and good ground clearance - this is because the crew would be robotic too, not human. This allows the tank to be smaller, lower, lighter and even a totally different shape (if you want), as crew ergonomics become irrelevant.

What you've designed is hardly worth the effort as a 3-d model, since boxy units like that are quicker (and easier) to make by hand in a voxel editor.

Juat my $0.02.

what the? all powerful?
the m1a2 is the same as just about any main battle tank spec wise exept for its depleted uranium armour. but its slower and shorter range than a german leopard 2 and weighs more than both challenger 2s and leopard 2s. generaly they arent great they are average if a bit high tech.
