Do you believe in GOD?
Some people just doesn't believes in God, while some others think on God as energy, while others as a lord that is somewhere unknown, but controls everything. What's your opinion about God? QUICK_EDIT
i believe.....i mean why not, its not like atheism is gonna get u newhere so i just decide that there has to be SOME God out there... i guess i like the God right out of the Bible, altho im not very much of a church-goer QUICK_EDIT
I don't really believe in god... It's not exactly like their's any real proof, and some people I know even say that he's real because the bible is so old and so big. That's great proof. QUICK_EDIT

One thing i will say is this, there is no "real" evedence eather way, u can say u have evedence but unless u see the man himself how do u rearly know he excists?
What you've also got to think about, how can all of these religions be right? (Not just the current ones, dont forget greek and roman and other gods). Admittedly there is no 'real' evidence either way but scientists have come up with a pretty damn good explanation for the creation of the universe and of the earth and have some (not definitive i'll admit) proof. If they are to be believed then how could god have made the world in seven days?? I mean I can see that people need something to believe in and a religion is as good as anything but I just don't thing there is a god in any way shape or form. QUICK_EDIT

I believe that religions were created to be an easier way to explain facts that humanity couldn't understand. So, they basically said that a God, a more powerfull power did that... QUICK_EDIT
Science is pretty good at thinking up ways of explaining the creation of the universe. Quantum Physics, the Big Bang Theory, spontaneus mutation, but there's always nagging little things we can't explain. Noone can explain Bacteria; scientists say that for it to randomly assemble from a primordial ooze, it'd take zillions of years, but in order for evolution to have carried out the way scientists think it did, we'd need to have Bacteria showing up in a matter of millenia. Also, we still can't decide where exactly this big explosion that created the universe came from, if before it there was nothing.
The thing about multiple gods, I have a couple ideas about that. Either the people we think of as Gods are just another species (Kinda like what it'd be like if someone created a tiny universe as a science project. All the beings created for the project would consider the creator to be a god. Maybe Zeus, God, Set, Allah, and the rest of the gang were part of some species that decided to create a world one day), or there actually is one or a group of god, and everyone just worships them differently (Ie. God, Allah, Zeus, etc. were all one person that each culture thought of differently). QUICK_EDIT

LOL, Kane! You and AOM... The egyptians pharaohs were normal humans which self claimed Gods to get all taxes which would be destinated for Gods. As for Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Odin, Thor and Loki... they were stories created by humans... none ever existed... QUICK_EDIT
lol, I'm not talking about Stargate. I'm saying that maybe Zeus and such weren't even IN this universe. They were in another universe. They just created a universe for fun, and stuck it in a giant dogly bottle or something. Also, Banshee, there's a fairly large amount of stories about Zeus and Co. coming to earth. Hell, most of Homer's writing is thought to be factual, and he has a lot about gods in it, so maybe at one time there WAS a guy named Zeus, walking around throwing lightning bolts...
'Course, what they say in stargate is entirely plausable. It wouldn't surprise me too much. The thought of aliens influencing ancient earth doesn't seem to hard to believe...
Also, I'm not talking about Egyptian pharaos, and I'm not talking about AOM. I'm talking about the actual historical writings that have accounts of these gods (Ie. Homer, as I said above, as well as writings from that time. Excavations of Hittite and Egyptian cities turned up a number of things related to gods and such). When I say Egyptian Gods, I mean the ones they worshipped, the big ones, like Anubis and Set. QUICK_EDIT
But doesn't that now mean we're discussing whether aliens exist or not? I mean it really does seem plausible that something extra-terrestrial did alter our planet's development in some way because I think Kane's right about the whole bacteria and evolution thing. Its like trying to say a tornado can hit a junkyard and assemble the parts into a working 747 or something, so it seems to me that something could really have affected life on this earth. QUICK_EDIT

God just making us seems simple, but its a much more unlikly thing.(how was god created? who created god? what started the universe? if god started this universe who created his?, etc.)

ok, i saw this video once where it starts out like a bizilion miles out in space (you know what i mean) and it keeps zooming in farther and farther and pretty soon it gets to our galaxy and earth and zooms in on some country and ends up on this person and it goes into his body an dblood into the cells then molecules and atom and into the nucleas so on and so on untill it gets to the smallest part of the atom and it starts to look like at the beginning out in th middle of space... i think that coul dbe very possible QUICK_EDIT

Humans didn't need to come up with sex. We're animals. We knew that as instinct (Back before we started growing larger brains and lost all our instinct, but by then we had education to deal with all the stuff we didn't know as instinct before).
