Metal Factions 2.07 has been released!
Subject description: Getting a better view of the AVEN!
Greetings, commander! A new version of Metal Factions has been released recently by their team. For those who are not acquainted with it, Metal Factions is an open-source game made with the Spring RTS game engine. It\'s an evolving real-time strategy game with four factions: Aven, Gear, Claw, and Sphere. It features 3D terrain and units, intuitive physics with real-time simulated gravity, collision handling, and projectile trajectories. It has over 400 units, including humanoid robots, tanks, ships, aircraft, buildings, defenses, etc. Here are the updates from Metal Factions 2.07:
Wind values are overridden to an average of about 20 E/s per generator for maps with relatively low wind values
(this makes many maps made for BAR or ZK more playable)
Reduced cost of large walls from 560m to 450m
Adjusted energy costs for lasers on AVEN "Raptor" and GEAR "Rattler"
Relatively cheap non-missile non-laser skirmishers with about 550-700 range are now a bit more cost-effective at dealing raw damage
Workaround for an issue that could cause GEAR aircraft to fly slightly slower or faster than their rated max velocity
Cost reduction of up to about 10% for small ground units with low HP and short range weapons, especially if they're relatively slow
(emphasis on making t1 infantry bots cheaper, and they also get increased aim rates)
