looking at these i just realized that the reason westwood used the harrier in ra2
was because it is a VTOL, knowing it wouldnt make sense for any other aircraft
to take off vertically as the game logic from tibsun is coded to do.

It wouldn't have been that hard to change the code so aircraft take off & land more realistically (Rockpatch did after all). I think it was a design choice to used the VTOL harrier because they want a compact airfield with multiple pads instead of a large runway with one plane like RA1 etc.

A funny fact: westwood drew the harrier as the falc's icon, but use the A-6 intruder as its model.
