Hello, I was told to come here if I had an error with the Tiberian Sun client.  It consistently crashes when I attempt to start a new campaign with the message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".  Crash log attached.  It also happens when hitting the button to start a Skirmish or, well, getting within spitting distance of any mode that actually lets me play.

I did search to make sure this wasn't discussed before, though I admit not very thoroughly.

Disable updates from client Options and try.

If you are not playing online, you could even try setting ModMode=true in Resources\ClientDefinitions.ini.

Hello, that did not seem to help, unfortunately.

It is the same problem, its failing on Discord stuff.

Try getting a fresh copy from moddb and run it offline only, that is with no net access.

Okay, so I tried a couple of things.

I removed the version I downloaded off the website and instead downloaded the IMDB version, same version number and everything.  That didn't work.

So I then ran the game while my computer was disconnected from the Internet.  That didn't work, either.

I then tried to set the string you suggested in the INI file, ModMode=true, and that didn't do anything to fix it, either.

EDIT:  I finally got it to work by shutting down my Discord client.  I use some Discord mods apparently the game doesn't like.  Are there any workarounds for this?

EDIT 2: Commented out the DiscordAppID entry in the Resources\ClientDefinitions.ini and it no longer crashes.  If I could fill in my altered Discord client's AppID, I would.

I personally don't know the client's Discord interaction.

I have reported in C&C Mod Haven discord server about this, lets see if someone responds. You could join the server and check for yourself.
