Notepad++ v8.6: 20th-Year Anniversary edition released last month!

Last month, November 23rd, some big reinforcements arrived from Notepad++ as Notepad++ 8.6 has been recently released by their developers.

For those unfamiliar with it, Notepad++ is a free and open-source code editor and Notepad replacement that runs on Windows. It supports several programming languages, multiple tabs, plugins, and is based on the powerful editing component Scintilla.

The big reinforcement is because it brings a very useful feature: the multi-edit. I have been announcing new versions of Notepad++ for a while on this site, but I must admit that I do not update it very often. Perhaps because I am lazy or sometimes one or other plugin might fail, but this time, I really updated the program here as soon as I heard of multi-edit. And no, I had no problems with plugins whatsoever by updating my Notepad++ to 8.6. This feature allows you to edit multiple lines at once by using alt + shift. Fix Updater’s vulnerability (update cURL in WinGUp for fixing CVE-2023-38545).
Fix incoherent behavior of the “Duplicate Current Line” menu command.
Fix JSON5 not using JSON keywords.
Fix empty message showing while canceling session file saving dialog.
