1. Check the number of frames in SHP file is same as other wall overlays (gawall/nawall etc.).
2. Check if you have named the SHP files correctly like other walls and placed in a mix file.

Have you placed the SHP in a mix file like expandmd10.mix?

FA2 is not able to read the SHP file for overlay. Even with FA2sp, the file reading for building and overlay is different.

If you suspect any problem with the SHP file, you can share it here.

If I give smaller filename and theater specific files like lawall.shp, ltwall.shp etc., it is working.

FA2 has hardcoded slots in the overlay list that make walls behave like walls when placing, if you put walls into other overlay slots, they will be treated as just a collection of frames. This is also true with railroad sets.

With FA2sp, it shows the new wall in Overlays -> Others on sidebar and connects the wall frames like GAWALL/NAWALL do.

The "0xfd" error but is because the SHP file doesn't have a radar colour set. To fix it you can open the SHP file in SHP Builder & then save it, the program will then automatically add a radar colour to the file.

The problem of FA2 not able to read the SHP is fixed, it was filename length and FA2 not reading generic theater (2nd char) for overlays in this case. And placing the connected walls work atleast for me with latest Patched FA2.
