The End Of Days: Pathfinding milestone and voiceovers!
Subject description: The days will end, but the apocalypse mess will be more organized if it depends on their pathfinding tricks!
Hi everyone! The developers from The End of Days have recently shared their progress on their project with pathfinding and voiceovers. For those who are not acquainted with it, The End of Days is a mod for Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour. It adds Russia as a new playable faction and improves the original three with new units, structures, and special powers! It strives to bring an authentic real-war feeling, with a few fictional additions for more fun and diverse gameplay & tactics! It also replaces Heroes with elite infantry, and Superweapons are mostly presented as mobile ICBM Launchers like Russia's Topol-M or China's DF-41. It also innovates with purchasable subfactions at your tech center instead of the original choice of "Generals" before battle, which allows you to change your strategy mid-game to counter your opponents! Each of the 4 factions has 3 completely different subfactions to choose from. Here is the official announcement about Pathfinding from The End of Days at their Discord Channel:

Pathfinding Fix Announcement
We are very happy to announce the pathfinding improvement the TEOD Team has achieved.
This improvement will be introduced in the upcoming Patch 5. If we don't find any downsides to it, we'll share the code with any mod creator so he can apply it to his mod since this improvement might be very significant and important for the entire community!

What you see in the image is an army group consisting of different kinds of units with different types of locomotor specifications.
Single movement command was given to bypass obstacles. (CTRL + F has not been used!)
Old ZH logic is always trying to line the units up and move through a single path.
After our improvement, the units are breaking and taking other paths and not clumping.
Another aspect is that units tend to keep their initial formation when moving and not try to clump when the destination is reached.
We hope this improvement has no downsides and everyone will soon have a chance to try it and apply it to his mod.
