Does a spawned unit from a spawner have to be a voxel in order to work?

My spawner is unable to fire out a unit.shp that i created, but when i change the spawned unit to a voxel one, it works...

This is my last resort as I've looked everywhere for information on this.

Spawned units are aircraft types and aircraft can only use voxels.
