Tips on adding new multiple PNG frames to Infantry SHP via SHP builder/XCC Mixer

Having issues adding new multiple png frames to existing infantry SHP. For example, I'm adding swimming frames to the Spy/Conscript unit using the swimming frames from SEAL. Adding new frames messes up or removes the shadows in the rendered SHP. Any idea how best to do this? Thanks!

Infantry have shadow frames. If the SHP has 840 frames, then the second 420 of those are all shadow frames. If you want to add 40 swimming frames after 420, then you should also add 40 additional frames at the end to serve as the shadow frames of those swimming frames, for a total of 80 frames.

Does that sound like the problem you are having?

Did this with the SHP builder (3.38 Beta 26). Used the conscript for example, but doing these same steps with PNG removes the shadow from the conscript. I added 183 new swim frames and 183 new shadow frames, but it automatically deleted the existing conscript shadows. Tried it with PCX in XCC mixer but it gives error when converting.

Not sure what I am doing wrong. Thanks for helping!

Got it working with XCC Mixer after changing to 1.47. I just can't make it work with SHP Builder as it removes the shadow of the Conscript. Thanks for helping!

In SHP Builder go to Options > Shadows and turn it off, this will stop the program from automatically making the later half of the frames shadows and instead let you edit the frames in their raw form.

Something might be wrong here.
183 can't be divided by 8.
An infantry has 8 facings and with that odd number of new frames, the squence may end messed up.
e.g. you can't have 22 north moving frames, but 23 west moving frames. All facings need the same number of frames in the same sequence.

Could be the WetIdle or WetDie frames, which don't have 8 facing versions.
