Metal Factions v2.43 is now available!

Hi everyone! Metal Factions v2.43 is the most recent release of Metal Factions's team. For those unaware of what is being written here, Metal Factions is an open-source game made with the Spring RTS game engine. It's an evolving real-time strategy game with four factions: Aven, Gear, Claw, and Sphere. It features 3D terrain and units, intuitive physics with real-time simulated gravity, collision handling, and projectile trajectories. It has over 400 units, including humanoid robots, tanks, ships, aircraft, buildings, defenses, etc. Here is the changelog covering Metal Factions v2.43 and other recent releases:
Fixed an issue from the previous version that caused the UI to not load properly on Linux
Moved external config/data files to the standard LuaUI/Config directory (running the game should transfer custom strategies, optional units, and keys files to a new location)
Shortened tip text for units with directional damage resistance and added the turn button in a few missing cases
CLAW "Scorpitron" : L2 All-Terrain Cloakable Heavy Ambush Robot
SPHERE "Attritor" : L2 All-Terrain Heavy Drone Swarm Controller
SPHERE "Retro" : L2 Skirmisher Tank
--- Balance / Mechanics
AVEN "Ghost" flies higher and had its decloak radius reduced (less likely to decloak when flying over enemy ground units)
AVEN "Stormfront" bombs' damage increased from 300 to 420, but lingering aoe dms/s reduced from 180D(M) to 100D(M)
Stormfront's storm effects now also linger over water for 30s (same as land and air)
Slightly reduced turn rates for AVEN "Paladin" and "Maximus" so they're a bit worse at dodging artillery fire
Increased turret turn rates for AVEN "Kodiak"
Increased GEAR "Assaulter" HP by 5% and cost by 4%
GEAR "Grenado" and "Hellburner" explosions had their damage, and AOE increased, but the damage type changed from H to M
Increased CLAW "Blizzard" dmg/s by 35% and cost by 20%
Increased CLAW "Thumper" collision volume to match its height
CLAW "Dancer" is bigger, tougher, faster, and more expensive, and got its weapon replaced by 520-range guided amphibious bombs
(its sonar now covers the weapon range)
Replaced CLAW L2 construction ship with a construction sub
Fixed SPHERE red artillery rockets overshooting their targets
SPHERE "Stresser" gets slightly bigger and tougher and has a new H anti-armor missile launcher
SPHERE "Stalwart" has slightly higher dmg/s on the weapons but about 8% increased cost
Changed SPHERE L2 construction sub to be M armored and be slightly faster, tougher, and more expensive (in line with the other factions)
Added toggle between default weapon targetting behavior or an avoidance mode which ignores enemies behind obstacles such as walls or wrecks
Range upgrades now increase radar and sonar radius as well
Advanced radar towers are now buildable on water
Speed upgrades and modifiers also affect the turn rate
Dash speed boost increased from +30-60% to +40-70%
H armor units take 20% less damage from AOE
Slightly increased the collision volume for long-range rockets that can be shot down
Lingering AOE effects got their dmg/s limits changed to 300 (fire) and 500P+166 (disruptor storm)
Jump heights were reduced by about 5-15%, and movement speed increased by about 10-25% (bigger effect for relatively fast units)
Death explosions' damage type changed from H to M for larger ones and M to L for smaller ones
Adjusted cloak costs of combat units to be about 10E/s per 400m cost (2x when moving)
Amphibious ships are no longer buildable from the L2 vehicle factories
--- UI / Visual / Sounds
Optional units selection panel opens up on the currently selected faction instead of AVEN
When ordering single units to attack or placing buildings, show a dark red circle indicating their death blast radius (if relevant)
Attack and sensor ranges are now shown scaled by upgrades when placing buildings
Fixed minimap warning circle animations when units are taking damage
Added warning circles on the map and minimap marking incoming allied long-range rockets (nukes, etc.)
Added "Set-Target" command, which lets units mark a target to attack when possible without disrupting movement (default hotkey "Y")
(uses the same gadget as BAR)
Added distinct sound/visual effects for huge explosions dealing M and H damage
Added "Turn" command for units with directional weapons
Added "Auto-Group" widget : alt+[1-9] sets auto-group for selected unit types, alt+0 clears auto-groups
