This is about missile launchers

Now, hear me out. I know that voxels with WO (without missile) forms can't use V3-like missiles (and it seems baffling that no extension has ever tackled this, given how any crazy RPG mechanics they added to the game).

However, I don't know if having a WO form is necessary for it to be a launcher vehicle. For example, the Carrier uses the same system as a V3 launcher essentially, and it doesn't have a WO form. On the other hand, using an empty form is why the Destroyer couldn't have a front turret (you see, this problem affects even the base game design, and yet nobody changed the code).

So, can we have turreted carriers? If we do, we can also have turreted V3 launchers - as long as they stay in a single form (For example, RA3's V4 has a missile tube, so it doesn't change much when empty).

But, I fear even the V3 spawning in place may interfere with the turret mechanic.

Has anyone got around to testing this?

Units with turrets can spawn aircraft or V3 missiles without any problems. The issue is that voxels are programed with only one slot for extra artwork, which can be used by either a turret/barrel or an unloaded version but not both at the same time.

With Kratos you can use Stands to attach units to other units, so you can give a unit an invisible dummy turret and then attach a V3 launcher to the turret etc.

I will have to test it. My question would be then if the spawned V3 follows turret orientation, or if its just oriented to the unit's body.

I guess in the Kratos example it would follow the "invisible dummy turret" but that also doesn't precisely answer if it would point the V3 before firing.

But, even in the case the spawned unit doesn't align to turret, I guess it can still be useful for stuff like a turreted destroyer (with carrier hole for example) or a GLA-like Scorpion tank with missile attachment.

If you attach the stand to the turret it will rotate with the turret.

Speaking of Phobos and Kratos, I have seen a short clip showing a normal voxel tank trailing a v3 launcher ( I dont remember if it was attached Stand as in Kratos, or attached Techno as in Phobos) and when deployed, it spawns soviet barracks launching the rocket, then the tank gets back to normal, totally crazy stuff

Edit: after having a quick look over the 51 pages, the documentation needs to more organised like Ares docs, I guess its missing some tags or couldn't find it!!!
But it's still a better than translating Chinese by myself
