Yes, that's right, the torch was electrically powered.

It used to be a lighthouse for incoming ships.

The statue is based on the Colossus of Rhodes, which had a real burning torch.

The reason the why the statue doesn't have a shadow is because it would look weird when placed on the base because of its uneven shape. So you'd need to modify the shadow so it matches the shape of the base (and add a shadow to the base while your at it too).

If for some reason you ever use the statue without the base tho the shadow will then look wrong. So the best option is to have no shadow, so it can work with or without the base.

The base isn't a building, so it'll be difficult to give it a shadow.

And besides, it doesn't look too bad in the game, in my opinion.

Just fyi the shadow angle is wrong #Tongue

I agree though it's not terrible to see it even with the theoretical mismatch.

I've adjusted the character's shadow; it's now shorter and tilted slightly upward.

In the current version, the character has a burning torch and a shadow. The destruction animation has also been revised.

I grabbed a random 3D model of the statue of liberty from the net, resized it to match the RA2 version and rendered it with RA2 lighting and shadows. You can use it as a guide to make a correct shadow.

Looks much better. Unfortunately, I don't have any 3D programs. I use MS Paint and SHP Builder. My shadow of the figure is hand-drawn and based on an estimate. Thanks, Mig Eater.
