Well ok I know i've been preaching against yuri recently but with thorn on holiday he ask me to put forward a few questions

First off ist it possible to change what the genetic mutator super weapon turns ur poor infantry units into, for example instead of brutes, maybe iniates or virus? im sure its just a simple act of changing the code but can some one clear this up for me 'cus i dont have my YR disk installed at the moment *NEW PC YAY!*

Secondly is it possible and i think it maybe but i would like to check it out, that you can create a genetic mutator gun? im pretty sure u could its for alittle side project for the future so anyhelp would be much appreciated.

On DCoder's web site there is the what is MakeInfantry tutorial, using the tuturial i was able to make  the VirusGun and Virus Cloud create Brutes ...however i discoverd that the  Brute were AI grey remapping and attacked every thing  including  my  units i suggest caution.

lol, there is an easier way to do it you know...   take the war head for the genetic mutator, copy the code, and set the area of effect to somthing like 2 cells...

it works.. trust me  Razz

well thorn ol' buddy as u so quaintly put it in my fuel sirbomb topic u need to balance it out..... having uncontrolable brutes does sound rather funny, i would actually love to see it happen especially to a yuri player who's a tad over confident in their abilities..... and no this is not a dig at anyone who plays as yuri, well not quite anyone, u dont get quite away with it thorn old boy

if the cloud creates brute it f*cks up cos

the brute mutation animation needs an owner to recolor properly, you get extremely glitchy graphic.

To overcome that, simply attach the animation number for brute mutation onto the actual weapon warhead, not the particles.

what  happened is i gave the makeinfantry tag on the  viurs death animation.with out reaizing teh gas cloud used the same animation ( i do not use viruses well or often)  the viurs spawns a brute but  the brute  remains there  in the couds and dies the resulting death animmation produces  the grey remamed Brute  wich  usual then  comes and kills my virus.... though thi  has prompted me to attempt  creating  a  virus cloud based weapon  droping it  in the middle of enemy infantry   would be funny also i have not  noticed any  graphical abnormalities  or internal errors  .. my  lack of experince with the  mechanics prehibits a more  indepth  explination

when u mutate something there is a animation of the victim transforming into the brute, the animation is remapabble but since there is no owner you have a 2-3  secs of glitchy graphic badness.

You probably didn't notice it cos you produce a lot of gas, lol.

If with the warhead that raderaze made, the animation gives no owner.... then how is it that the full scale genetic Mutator Super Weapon, gives an owner straight away...

ahh yes the age old problem...... Hardcoding.... is their anyway we can bypass the hardcoding and still get the same affect as a gentic mutator but on a lot smaller scale?

I know and some people were worrying about the hardcoding about it! hahahahahahahahahahahaha not to worry the gentic mutator technology has now been down scaled and this calls for a new yuri unit prehaps something along the lines of our toxin soldier?

well there was no gas mainly because the gas effect was related to the infantrydeath=8=virus pop sequence

well the gas only appears as part of infantrydeath=8 for which is the viruspop now if u work on that theory and me and thorn have, well thorn discovered this at like 11.30pm at night he called me while i was recouvering from a booze session. He then said that the gas which apears from the virus guns bullet only apears when using a certain infantry death animation i.e Infantrydeath=8 now it then makes sense that if u change the infantrydeath=8 into infantrydeath=9 which is the brute mutation folks that there will be no gas from the body beacuse the body hasnt exploded and what will remain is a perfectly colored and controllable brute for ze ever annoying yuri.

Ta Da!

@thorn: dont shoot me old boy but had to explain how u did it so pps would understand ok? well to bad if its not ive already done it now

Documentation like ModEnc and my sticky thread "Useful References" is designed for this very purpose - to reduce the amount of repetitive questions.
Sadly, every newcomer thinks he's unique, rules don't apply to him and thus he is not supposed to read anything, a question he asks is unique and has never been asked before and answers should be given to him on a silver plate.

See, you wouldn't have had to bother, had you read my post. Since you didn't, I am starting to think that "figure it out yourself" can be a perfect reply to your next questions. After all, if you don't read what we reply, why should we bother to reply?

heres a reply for you.... pompuss asshole..... and i dont care about the spelling or if i get banned for saying my opinion . oh and just reading back up the post YOU decoder did NOT suggest we look at ur site in the first place, secondly you turn round and said after thorn asked about changing the warhead to the genetic mutator warhead you sed it was the hardcoding to the weapon and ive seen ur site about the gentic weapon or LACK OF IT. so personally decoder i think ur a ztyping stuck up two faced fraud who tries to bloody show off!

I did not link you to my site, that's true. Because I linked you to ModEnc, whose knowledge base is far superior  to that which I have on my site. And I quoted stuff from that exact ModEnc article that I linked you to.

However, since flaming is not allowed in PPM, I'm forced to lock this topic.
