New Tutorial: Editing TMPs and some site news
GeckoYamori has recently posted a tutorial about how to edit TMP files with Photoshop using textures. Very interesting guide that explains the method used for Exodus and Tiberium Odyseey terrain showed on some recent screenshots. This is not the first TMP Editing tutorial posted here, however, it's quite usefull. Here's a snippet:
"Terrain artists seem very scarce in the community, I can't even name 5 people capable of doing it including me. It's really not as hard as one might think it is, all it requires is some basic knowledge of how your photo editing program works (Photoshop, PSP) and a lot of patience.
In this tutorial we will change the basic temperate clear tile into something different. What you need are the original .tem files, a texture image of your choice, and a photo editing program. In this case, we will be using Photoshop. I'm sure there are counterparts for every used feature in Paintshop Pro."
Also, I've added several tutorials links in the left menu. These new tutorials doesn't use the layout of the site because they were made for the site, but for being seen in the forums. However, there are many usefull information that explains TMP, VQA and several tricks with rules.ini and art.ini. Some of them, very useful for the PPM Animation Contest 2.
I've also added the links for the new mapping forums as well as some other aditions. Also, links related to C&C 10th Anniversary are now available in the right menu. QUICK_EDIT
