The day has come to show top 5 Tiberian Sun maps. Those who reached here deserves my congratulations, since this edition was much harder than the older ones. And that's the tendency, I hope.

I would start to announce the prizes soon, but we had a good surprise recently. EA is extending the ammount of prizes for the Open Map Competition, so I hope all of you can be patient that we'll get into these details in the next days.

The Red Alert 2 and Generals maps are still be reviewed, so I'd also ask patience for this as well. You may expect a lot of high quality maps for these games.

The 5th time is GeckoYamori. He is author of Tiberium Retaliation, mod hosted at Savage War that improves the gameplay by radicaling changing Nod, providing new maps and some other improvements. Gecko has expertised himself on lighting and provided good maps for the community like the conversion of South Pacific from RA2 that many people played with Return Of The Dawn and other mods online.

His map, Scars of War is a small 2 players map inside a devastated city, with some excelent lighting. It's a quite challenging map, since it doesn't have many tiberium and several entrances for each base, specially the one in the left... quite harder to defend, but easier to get tiberium than the base in the right. GeckoYamori was lucky that his valid score has beaten Aurora's by miserable 0.33%, although his overall score was much better. Here's the details:

Tomorrow we'll be revealing the 4th place from the Tiberian Sun maps that can be Absturz, Muldrake, Tesla7zap or Willshire. The 4th position will also get a special map space at CnC Depot. Good luck for everyone and enjoy GeckoYamori's map!

An interestingly visceral map, I especially like the experimentation in grouping the buildings together, it creates a unique feel to the map. I can't wait to see how good the rest are!

I thought this was Gecko's, but didn't think he'd cram buildings so close together like that. The pink Ion Storm was interesting.

This is a nice map =) Looks a bit weird with the exact same buildings at some places, yeah. But this is still a good map and is worth recognition =)
