An Idea on infantry...
This is what I did for my mod.
If you give GDI a rocket infantry it'll seem unoriginal. BUt if you dont it'll be a little biased since they got no strong anti air as yet.(GDI cant stop their own jumpjets?) So how about a secondary weapon for rifle infantry? A slow reloading anti armour weapon? Like in reality, in a group of infantry they bring along some anti amour weapon and crowd control devises.
This will also strengthen the sense of rock-scissors-paper between infantry, tanks and jets/buildings. QUICK_EDIT
I wouldn't give the basic infantry anti-armour. I'd just have a missile based unit for anti-armour and anti-air capabilities. Such as the 'Cyclops' which is already going to be used. QUICK_EDIT

why you think i'll give Rocket soldier for GDI? i never said that.
i'll rive Rocket Soldier for nod.and give granade launcher for GDI.but GDI have 2 infantry can use to anti Air unit.

giving light infantry missiles usually doesn't work well. i made a mod that replaced the light infantry with the "Heavy Trooper" which fired a missile. i also added various other infantry with weapons like the "Man-Hunter Missile" and the "You're gonna die" missile. i've never seen a Mammoth Mk2 be destroyed so quickly (giving wolverines nukes probably wasn't so smart either) QUICK_EDIT
nod i remove jumpjet unit from GDI and plan to give it for faderation side... and GDI Marine Zbasic GDI infantry X can shoot air unit by his machine gun.Zlike starcraft ) QUICK_EDIT
Well since this topic is about infantry, and yes i am a new comer, ive gota couple of ideas you may consider:
Nod:
-Nod Priests (ive always wondered if Nod is some sort of religion ), maybe give em that weapon from stargate, the one which the aliens who look like egyptians use.
-Flare Troopers (ive always liked that word lol, flare, well simply a long range flame thrower )
GDI:
-Air Superiors (stronger versions of the jump jet infantry, ive always wanted to see a stronger rocketeer, this could be it )
-Ghosts as soldiers instead of heros, maybe (well maybe if you can tone down the strenght, they can become the sci fi GDI snipers!) QUICK_EDIT
GDI
- Marine
Infantry with heavy machine gun can attack both land and Air,they have better armor than Nod Black guard but slower.Marine can deploy to use defense mode [like GI in Ra2]
- Engineer
Similar Ra2 Engineer
- Guardian
Infantry with Granade Launcher,Good to anti infantry,light vehicle and building but weak VS heavy armor they can deploy to use mortar to fire VS Building.
- Jackel Armor Suit
Heavy Infantry they equip Heavy battle suit and HE Rocket Launcher Geeod to fight Everything.they're slow but very strong vs explosive weapon but weak vs energy weapon.[laser,plasma,lighting]
- Commando
adv infantry,he's the best choice to kill the group of enemy infantry, and hecan destroy the enemy base with airstrike support [like boris] when he deploy he can use sniper mode that improve his attack range. this unit weak vs vehicle
Nod
- Blackguard
Nod Basicinfantry they'r weaker than GDI with fire power and armor but they faster,and they dont applier in the enemy radar.
- Rocket Soldier
infantry equip rocket launcher best vs light/heavy armor ,airunit and building but not good much vs infantry.
- Engineer

- Chemical Warrior
infantry equip chemical spray weapon,this weapon can turn the group of enemy infantry to be tiberium monster and you can use tiberium monster to self destruct with the enemy.this weapon cant use vs vehicle.
- Black Hand
version of nod commando,they equip stealth suit and laser weapon,this kind of weapon work best for everything and he can place the HE-bomb to the enemy vehicle/building to destroy them. [like ivan] QUICK_EDIT
Sorry it's Ra2 no general, no upgrade...
i want only 5 because it not too easy to make infantry model.and i think my list is the best.
i try to give abilitie for unit than give alot of type of unit.
why Marine because i want to keep jumpjet infantry for other side but in TS that is only unit can fire vs Aircraft that mean i need to think what unit can fire AA replance on it,i think mixed AA unit with lightinfantry is the best choice if i want to make only 5 unit.
Why no Sniper because GDI never have Sniper since TD [it just have when c&c3 come] that mean sniper is not original GDI unit, but ok i want to add sniper too but sniper+commando mixed is more interesting.
No Medic because my list is full
Blackhand can pare type of commando for now.
Flamethrower i think it'll useless or make the flame tank are useless because it work same position,remove it and keep the flame tank is better.
why nod dont have heavy infantrybecause i want to make this side use stealth or hit'n run much as possible.
Chem Warrior is Special Nod Infantry.
thank for idea i'll consider to add it when i finish 3rd side. [medic,stealth trooper already in consider]
